I don't really know where else to do this, but I wanted to do a sort of Speed Accel ladder for our American players. I want to make sure we have them in line properly. Here are the players I'd like to get your thoughts on...
Bornstein, Hejduk, Wynne, Robbie Rodgers, Riccardo Clark, Thorrington, Charlie Davies, Beasley, Donovan, Eddie Johnson, Adu, Twellman, Wolff, Altidore(Buddle?)

All of these players have been discribed in their careers as "pacey". But who is really faster than who. I have my thoughts, and some stats have been made for some of these players, but I am more concerned with comments like...Wynne is much faster than Eddie Johnson in TS, but they are close in Accl, and no one else is as fast as Eddie on this list.....(not saying I believe that, just an example of the type of convo I'd like to see :D ) I trust the ratings for Beasley & Donovon's TS/ACCL....as I took a hard look at those not too long ago. I think they would be good benchmarks for discussion and ladder talks 8-)

Hard to say who is fastest but I say
1) Marvell WYNNE
2) Landon DONOVAN

They currently site at:
1)94/96
2)87/92
Are you saying that none of the other players are in between? I already disagree because Beasley is faster than Donovan. I put him at 89/90 to contrast Donovan's 87/92.

odd that they called up Marcus Hahnemann to be the 3rd keeper. They have Perkins & Busch who could use the international experience, and I thought Hahnemann retired internationally :?:

Also choosing DeMerit & Spector over Cherundolo & Bornstein. Must be some English football love.

Someone needs to do Torres, he's going to be a big player for the US now / in the future.

For Torres, I've seen him as well for the national team a few times.

He plays like a typical Mexican player. Small, but very agile, good technique and skill on the ball.

Dunno how quick he is yet. I'll try to catch him for his club team in Mexico and get some notes on him.

Changes in the roster for the Mexico match:
Out:
23. Luis ROBLES - Kaiserslautern
6. Heath PEARCE - Hansa Rostock
11. Marvell WYNNE - Toronto FC
14. Danny CALIFF - FC Midtjylland
7. DaMarcus BEASLEY - Rangers FC
16. Sacha KLJESTAN - Chivas USA
19. Freddy ADU - AS Monaco

IN:
Steve CHERUNDOLO - Hannover 96
Chad Marshall - Columbus Crew
Stuart Holden - Houston Dynamo
Brian Ching - Houston Dynamo

Stuart Holden needs to be created. Been a shinning star in the MLS for a good year and a half now. And my impression of Chad Marshall is that he is one of the best MLS CBs.

That was the only one that bothered me as well. But I do like Holden getting a shot. And surprised to see Beasley and Adu off the roster. I think the Beasley one is smart, and sends a message.
