Sorry but thats a big NO from me. Given's commanding of the back-four is incredibly poor its his only real weakness and its the reason he isn't the Republic of Ireland captain imo he really needs to be more vocal.

That's a shame, what will happen with Hart now? Seems a great talent.

He had a great run of form at the start of last season but hasn't showed any huge potential imo.

We really need to decrease GK Skills Given is a wonderful shot-stopper but his handling is nowhere near this good at the current moment he is the 2nd best at handling in the Premier League and he is rated above the likes of Sebastien Frey and Edwin Van Der Sar. I propose a significant drop to around 84 possibly an 85 at a stretch I rate Almunia as a better catcher of the ball tbh.

Given stops shots, then thinks about holding onto them. ;)

I'd match him to Reina and Jussi on 85 and bring down Gomes to 85. His or Gomes' handling isn't on a par with Friedel, Schwarzer or Howard in my opinion.

I still think Shay is the primary reason Newcastle are still a Prem club, and that'll finally end this season now he's gone.

You know what Alco, I'd actually rate Reina's handling as slightly better than Given's but Given has a better agility.

I think it should look more like this

87: Howard

86: Friedel, Schwarzer

85: Reina, Almunia

84: Jaaskelainen, Given, Gomes, Gordon

That actually looks a lot more reasonable ladder-wise and I'd tend to agree. But where do you rate Cech, who obviously needs a decrease?

Shay's handling could come down but I would say that Shay is more consistent handling wise than Reina and shouldn't be rated lower than him . Reina's a great shot-stopper but he's more prone to handling errors and spilled shots than Shay imo. Especially when dealing with corners he openly said in interviews that he prefers to punch the ball all the time rather than catch hit.

Id say Shay's Handling is on par with the big Aussie, while I believe Freidal could be raised. I also think VDS is overrated in the GK skills department

Sorry Brezza but you have a big disagree from me. Given's handling is actually rather average Reina imo is far more capable of stopping really hard shots a rather recent example was the game against Manchester United where although he had a preference to parry he caught some bloody hard shots too, something you'll rarely ever see Shay Given doing. I think my mini-ladder looks pretty accurate with Cech being at 88 1 point above Howard to answer Alco's question.

Gomes has shown decent form of late but it could be feasible to lower Gomes to an 83 he never even at his time at PSV deserved an 85.
