Primera B Nacional updates & ladders discussion

Postby PES Stats Database » 2012 Apr 27, 17:58

I will use this thread and copy the great idea from Italian Serie A mods. This will be useful for me and for everyone just in case you watch any Nacional B match. The idea is that if you can contribute, that contribution will be much more important if it's about outdated or old-standared players and concerning this last year performance (I mean, I won't consider notes from 3 years ago as if they're true nowadays)

Green players = have been updated lately/this season, with new concepts and definitions applied.
Yellow players = haven't been updated in a while. May have unconsistencies (for example, high responses on SBs, to menction some), but not necessarily bad sets. Are likely to be fine with some little adjustments.
Red players = old-standared players, with wrong sets or that have never been updated or reviewed, who are likely to get an overall revision of their values.

Really do not understand the meaning of the post jaja, I do not know if I misunderstood or poorly explained it drop, but did not understand. Want your numbers to express our opinion on updating easier and directly? So or did I misunderstand?

Both the things. In this case I started with my Jump/Header ladder, which aren't "urgent" stats to update (although we come from a philosophy in which most of CBs and CFs have better values in these stats than players of other positions, even if they don't deserve it) but there are other which have to change 'quickly' because they were bad rated beforewars (RESP, ATT, TW, MENT are the most noticeable, always taking into account player's positions). If you take a look, in other leagues there are similar topics (I've seen in EPL, Serie A, Eridiviese, to menction some, have their own ladders discussion), so I don't find it a bad idea to discuss here aswell. I'll try to put the new concepts here so people who aren't still used to new definitions can learn and start applying stats in this new way to players they know.

You can say if you agree or not, put how would your own ladders be, add some player who can be missing and could be useful as a parameter and so on

THen I'm gonna put some ladder. But copying the stats to my OF, noticed that there are tones of players with *Marking or *DF Leader,..and to players that have a really low level. Could be done something about it?

Weird, the only ones with DF Leader in Nacional B are Goux and Furios; and Macaluso, Cajaravilla, León, Marmol, Goux again and Cristian Leiva have Man Marking. I think that probably unless Leiva and León (according to what I could see lately), the rest can be fine. I really don't know deeply the situation of Marmol

EDITED:
GOALKEEPERS RATINGS

According to the new ways of rating Gks, I've made a ladder on the GKs I believe I know enough. You can see the explanations of these new "standards" that are being applied here, based on s-cobar work. I'll update with these numbers, then you can say if you see something which isn't appropiate in your opinion, argue and change if necessary. Most of the GKs here are good but only on reflexes, few of them have a really good control of situations and their box. Notice that the main stats that define how good a GK is are DEF (mainly)/RESP/KS, while some stats we previously rated as important, are not really (AGI/MENT/JUMP) and have to be rated as any other field player

DEFENSE:
84 Julio CHIARINI

82 Mario VEGA
81 Fernando MONETTI, Carlos BOSSIO
80 Gastón SESSA, Emanuel TRÍPODI

78 Matías GIORDANO, Nicolás TAUBER
77 Carlos DE GIORGIS, Sebastián PEREYRA

RESPONSE

84 Gastón SESSA, Julio CHIARINI, Mario VEGA
83 Emanuel TRÍPODI, Fernando MONETTI, Fernando PELLEGRINO, Jorge BROUN, Leandro CHICHIZOLA, Sebastián BERTOLI, Maximiliano CAVALLOTTI, Pablo PERAFÁN
82 Carlos BOSSIO, Federico CRIVELLI, José Luis MARTÍNEZ GULLOTA, Josué AYALA, Lucas CALVIÑO, Lucas ISCHUK, Manuel GARCÍA, Matías GIORDANO, Matías VEGA, Pablo CAMPODÓNICO
81 Sebastián PEREYRA, Nicolás TAUBER
80 Carlos DE GIORGIS
I've tried lower values than yellows in RESP on some GKs and it makes them really harsh and almost look amateur ingame. As s-cobar wrote, reflexes are the first thing a goalkeeper learn, so except very exaggerate cases, they should be always above 80 (even 80 is a weak value)

AGILITY
79 Fernando MONETTI
78 Julio CHIARINI, Leandro CHICHIZOLA
77 Lucas CALVIÑO
76 Josué AYALA, Pablo PERAFÁN
75
74 Nicolás TAUBER
73 Carlos DE GIORGIS, Federico CRIVELLI, Manuel GARCÍA, Maximiliano CAVALLOTTI
72
71 Matías VEGA, Mario Daniel VEGA, Emanuel TRÍPODI
70 Lucas ISCHUK
69 Fernando PELLEGRINO, Gastón SESSA, José Luis MARTÍNEZ GULLOTA, Jorge BROUN
68
67 Matías GIORDANO, Sebastián BERTOLI
66 Pablo CAMPODÓNICO, Carlos BOSSIO

MENTALITY
83 Gastón SESSA
82 Carlos BOSSIO
81 Pablo CAMPODÓNICO
80 Pablo PERAFÁN
79 Emanuel TRÍPODI, Fernando PELLEGRINO,
78 Nicolás TAUBER, Jorge BROUN
77 Sebastián BERTOLI, Federico CRIVELLI, Fernando MONETTI, Mario VEGA, Julio CHIARINI, Josué AYALA, Matías GIORDANO, Sebastián PEREYRA
76 Lucas CALVIÑO, Maximiliano CAVALLOTTI, Carlos DE GIORGIS
75 Manuel GARCÍA, Matías VEGA, José Luis MARTÍNEZ GULLOTA,
74 Leandro CHICHIZOLA
As said, notice that Mentality is rated here as in any other player. Players who are "leaders", who deal better with pressure and adverse situations deserve good values. Previously we rated it believing it was "the decision to go out" and cut crosses or reducing opponents' shooting angles, for example; now we know that that is Aggresion and always depending on DEF.

I'm pending on KS and AGG ratings, I hope to watch better and post up the changes soon. The goalkeepers in the database missing in my ladders are: Gastón MONZÓN, Silvio DULCICH, César TABORDA, Gastón LOSA, Rodrigo LLINÁS, Darío CAPOGROSSO, Mauro Ignacio RUGGIERO, Pablo BANGARDINO and César MONASTERIO. If anyone knows 'em and would like to suggest, you're welcome.

I'll update with these values this evening if possible,

Good work Matias as always. Pretty much agree in everything...probably you were too harsh with Tauber. Imo he's a really good keeper for the category but he's in the worst team and with the worst defence (almost non existant) but he had been awesome matches despite being conceded goals. Must have a better mentality and response...he's a really confident keeper and he manages situations in a really good way. He lacks of teamwork many times and force but he's a good keeper btw. Also at least a green agility will fit him, he's a tiny guy with quick movements, really far better tbh. Gullota/Garcia could have white mentality and Chichizola go lower too. About Monzon, he should be on top of mentality and being one of the worst in ks/def, he sucks at managing situations he's a totally disaster. The rest of missing keepers are more or less average, nothing special.

Fine, I'll put Tauber some better values, anyways he's in the decreasing part of his career; while he can and has saved his team some times (mostly in the past), has had other really bad performances this season. For some reason he lost his place in the starting 11 until the arrival of Pasini, despite his bad relationship with the previous coach team. I remember his match against Instituto, his responses were harsh and slow, and mostly stood in the goal line everytime... I'll keep an eye on him whenever Chacarita's broadcasted. But undoubtely is not the same GK from 2 or 2 years ago, who brought much security.

About Monzon, I'll expect Lucas' participation here, although he hasn't played in a while. Then I update based on your suggestions.

Well actually it would be illogical of me to suggest something about Monzón, he not playing very long time ago. I think it's best to wait a comeback (after the expulsion today of Calviño vs. Central, has a chance to return), note taking and there if suggestion. All I have to say is that he remains Monzón is add 1-on-1 stopper, as I am suggesting for years jaja.

Been thinking about giving a good revamp in mentality as all the site is following Konami's standards. We should make a huge difference between real leaders/icons/strong mental players with young/lazy/not commitment/nothing special/average players as they do. I'm gonna try to help in teams that I'm more involved. I'm gonna start with River, if works good i could post some more. Ratings are more or less Konami's with some tweaks.

79: Fernando CAVENAGHI
78:
77: Martín AGUIRRE, Leonardo PONZIO
76:
75: David TREZEGUET
74: Cristian LEDESMA
73: Daniel VEGA
72: Carlos ARANO, Nicolás DOMINGO
71: Jonathan MAIDANA, Ezequiel CIRIGLIANO
70: Ramiro FUNES MORI, Luciano VELLA, Alejandro 'Chori' DOMÍNGUEZ
69: Leandro CHICHIZOLA
68: Juan Manuel DÍAZ, Luciano ABECASIS
67: César GONZÁLEZ
66: Andrés RÍOS
65: Carlos SÁNCHEZ, Rogelio FUNES MORI
64:
63: Lucas OCAMPOS
62: Mauro DÍAZ, Gustavo BOU
61:
60: Daniel 'Keko' VILLALVA

May be could 'sound' a bit harsh, but we should make these kind of drastic changes anytime. May be River isn't the best example as haven't so many real good mentality players, but Rosario Central has more and the idea is there.

Any opinion? This is pretty important to start applying in the whole category, if we stablish standards in big clubs, it'd be easier then to choose numbers to small teams.

I think in general it's fine, althought I haven't still tried ingame and I would strecht this "ladder" a bit more. For example I don't see Maidana below any other defender in Mentality, so probably something like 72-73, as well as Sanchez and G. Funes Mori rated below Andres Ríos (I'd put them in the same line). Lucas Ocampos right below them with an already bad number as 65 or 64 as a maximum and the same or just -1 for Villalva (who has responded several times in this tournament when entered in the 2nd times, also in Copa Argentina). Bou for the last place. Gonzalez Pirez and Pezzella (captain and leader of U-20 _arg NT) will be both well rated at something like 70 IMO. I'll try ingame and then say my conclussions.

EDIT: then, I used the values Vickingo said with those little modifications and think they're fine. Here are the other 2 teams fighting for the championship this year, express your opinions:

ROSARIO CENTRAL
83 Lequi
82
81
80 Ferrari
79
78 Zarif, Vismara
77 Castillejos
76 Rivarola, Méndez, Talamonti?
75 Broun
74 Mozzo, Peppino
73 Valentini, Ricky Gomez, Monje
72
71 Manuel García, Biglieri
70 Medina, Alderete, Toledo
69
68
67 Delgado
66
65 Carrizo
I've got doubts bout Talamonti. Salinas is missing, I don't know him so much.

INSTITUTO
82 Videla
81
80 Barsottini
79
78 Damiani, Encina
77
76
75
74 Chiarini
73
72 Sills
71
70 Lagos, M. Fernández
69 López Macri
68 Gagliardi, Canever, Rébola
67 Matias Vega, Bustos, Gaitán, Burzio
66 Dybala
65 Fileppi, Maxi Correa
64 Coronel, Bergese
63 Mario Moreno

Like it Matias, good work there. Salinas is pretty average, low white number there, no big deal. I agree in all except in Mozzo could have a bit more, with low green's. Are you sure about Rivarola so low? Always been a key player, lately he isn't having so many good performances but always been kinda leader. In Instituto, are you sure about Videla +2 than Barsottini...going by personality/leadership/key players/face adversity...I've been always a bit skeptikal about giving Videla so high number, but may be you have other explanation, Osvaldo always seemed me a good example of a good leadership and Videla a bit more than average player there with an excellent stamina. Good work indeed, you should update the rest if I'm not missing nothing.

No problems about increasing Mozzo and Rivarola then.
Bout Videla, I don't know If I had given you these examples previously, but take the case of the match against River in the first half of tournament: Instituto had had Erpen sent off the field with a red card and River was making a lot of pressure in Instituto's field (if that's not a 'difficult' situation, which one is?); Videla held the team almost on his own, recovering a lot of balls, going to the ground and sliding to get the ball, giving 110% of himself. Then after his injury, also against River in 2012, the team noticeably lowered its level, and it's not coincidence that Instituto could draw the match against Independiente Rivadavia after he entered the field in second half. I also remember how in some matches, in final minutes, when the team wasn't winning, he himself got forwards, going near the opposite box, trying to help Encina to create danger.

He's for sure the definition of what you say "personality/leadership/key players/face adversity", no player in Instituto has been as important and regular as him this year and for sure, has a personality that would allow him to play in any big club here. And I wouldn't be being unrealistic if I said he's the best player Instituto has bought in 10 years (even more than Faurlin)

EDIT: So, modified this teams' mentalities and given some tweaks to the following players:
Central - Ferrari
Instituto - Bustos, Rébola, Barsottini, Sills, Videla, Coronel, Encina
Most of them are minor changes, in those for whom I made deeper tweaks I'll write in each player's topic

Fine, it looks pretty realistic. I thought Leiva could have been green at least, but with this season... you'll know better than me. Updated Huracan

QUILMES
80 Garnier (he's got a pending update, in which he'll get higher STA too)

I updated Patronato's Mentality. I don't have precise values for Leopoldo Gutierrez, Bauman (has he left?), Roda and Diego Romero, I believe I haven't seen them this season. Victor, you made the sets, probably you know. Anyways I think they deserve low ones, right? Any suggestions are welcome.

PATRONATO

78 Guzmán
77 Bustos

75 Bértoli, Graciani, Andrade
74 M. Quiroga, Urresti
73 Boggino
72 Gerardo Acosta

67 Facundo Torres, Echagüe, M. Cabrera

Like it...may be Bastianini should have a better value, it's a player that I watched probably all his games in Chaca and despite definitions has changed in mentality...he's a fighter and has spirit despite being one of those player being far of leaders...something like 70 should be better I guess. Pereira's probably could reach 80. Roda/Bauman should have mid 60's for what I've seen and tbh I didn't follow so much Gutierrez and Romero or if I watched I didn't pay attention on it so I can't say with much precision, but for sure are nothing special, white's obviously.

Corrected that then, except Pereira, IMO he's more STA than Mentality, even in personality I believe Guzman is a little stronger (but I rated this last one lower because when exhausted, usually has to be replaced). I don't think he's at the level of Ferrari or Lamber who are truly commanders of their teams. BTW, I hadn't seen Pereira had 82 in STA, increased it.

I'm correcting some ATT/DEF ratios in players of every position, if I consider they're a bit overrated, taking into account their performances in Primera Division (if have played there) and comparing with other leagues 2nd leagues from the globe. I think that in the past we were clearly "afraid" of giving players low numbers (for example non-green ATT to strikers), even if those players have never been any relevant in their tasks. I took the decission of downgrading Almerares and Pablo Caballero's attack values, despite haven't seen them lately but according to a general view, they were much above what they deserve. In case, if there's any mistake by my part, I'll correct it if a player demonstrates better.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EDIT: I've readjusted most of DM's Mentalities. I keep my doubts and didn't touch the current top 2 players: Leonel García (Merlo - I haven't him so much seen) and Barrientos (IMO his stupidity and dirtiness inside the field deserve lower Ment and Def, but will wait some more). Opinions are welcome, as usual. I've also been tweaking ATT/DEF/Mentalities for several players in Lower League, for them to be more coherent.
