Joan Isaac Cuenca López (born 27 April 1991 in Reus, Tarragona, Catalonia) is a Spanish footballer who plays for FC Barcelona B as a right winger.

Cuenca joined FC Barcelona's La Masia in 2002, aged just 11. Halfway through his third youth year, however, he returned home and joined local CF Reus Deportiu, remaining with the club a further three (full) seasons.

Cuenca finished his formation with CF Damm and Barcelona, rejoining the latter in 2009. He made his senior debuts in the 2010–11 season, being loaned to yet another Catalonia club, CE Sabadell FC in the third division. He made an immediate impact, starting in 24 of his appearances and totalling 2,288 minutes as the Arlequinats returned to the second level after a 18-year absence.

In June 2011, Cuenca returned to Barcelona and joined its B team, alongside Martí Riverola. Shortly after, we was called by first-team manager Josep Guardiola to the pre-season, and made his debut on 23 July against HNK Hajduk Split.

Cuenca made his official debut for Barça B on 4 September 2011, playing the last 29 minutes in a 4–0 away win against FC Cartagena, and scoring the last goal of the match. On 19 October, he made his first official appearance for the main squad, replacing David Villa in the dying minutes of a 2–0 home success against FC Viktoria Plzeň, for the season's UEFA Champions League.

Just be honest: Cuenca hasnt proven to be anything special (not even at Barca B level, and that for a 20 year old), and these stats suggest he might be a gem.... that doesnt make sense.

Have you actually seen him play on a constant basis to make such a claim?

And if a youngster is currently displaying a great level of football, I see no problem in making a set to represent that. If he later stagnates or even becomes worse than he was at 20, then his set will be updated as needed.

And I am sure that every league (probably almost every topteam with a good academy) has young talented players like these.....but they dont wear an azulgrana jersey so arent immediately rewarded with allround ability and some quality stats for ball control, speed and dribbling.

That applies to every footballer in every team ever. Was Xavi Hernández really a worse player in 2007 than in 2008? I don't think so, but the style of play in both Barcelona and the NT didn't suit him that well, and also the general level of football displays from his teanmates was much worse before the Euro 08. It's logical that certain players outstand more when surrounded by a football team which displays a style of football they feel more confortable with. If your team usually has 70% possession in a match AND you are a technically skilled player, you will have more chances to show your skills than if your team has just 40% or 50% possession. That's why players like Cuenca, Rafinha and Deulofeu look so good right now, while that's also no guarantee for what they may do in the future. Bojan also seemed a great prospect...

Anyway I agree with some of your observations. It's true that he's been playing more as a substitute than a first-squad choice (even for B, although that could be mainly due to the coach's incompetence - trust me, Eusebio's an incompetent) so after looking at other sets I don't think he deserves a yellow Stamina (79 would be enough IMO). Balance, Mentality and Teamwork can also come down a few points, and I'm not really sure about current Response either. Finally, while I believe DA is ok, DS 85 may be excessive considering his current speed stats. I'd personally downgrade TS to 84 (his burst is better than his overall top speed) and maybe DS to 83/84 or so.

Anything special? Not please, what I have seen of Cuenca, which is enough games is great, I'm sure this guy get very far, if not at Barca will be on any other team, it has everything so you should have a winger, if respect him injuries can be most important thing Pedrito, of course, is regular that each think that in their leagues are the top players, nobody says Labyad is not the new 'Elia'

Seems he'll be playing again for the starting 11 of the first team today... would be safe to promote him to the first team forum IMO.

Again today. Move him to first team's subforum and update the squad's thread, please.

his drobbling is vary accurate, and his speed in it is higher, also his top speed is higher, he is fast as pedro i think, his tech is amazing, has a very good trapping and he is also more agile than the actual value, he squeezed in between players very easilly and also has very quick turns and moves.

I could wait for until the end of the 1st half of the season to make him an upgrade. We all know he's better than that set :)

Yes he's a good rookie but there are many younglings who have done better performances - and are better than him, even tough he's good - that I completely disagree to rate below him in some aspects.

And some comparations aren't the best at all, Pedro isn't in his best season and IMO our ratings should be more accurate, he's good, but not a world class yet. He could get some tweaks, but the essence would be the same as this set.
