Romelu Lukaku is Anderlecht's big (really, he is!) coming star. Just 16 years of age and he's already catching minutes every week, starting in Anderlecht's last game against Germinal. Many have compared him to Drogba and the likeness in playing style is really frightening, the young Belgian perhaps having even more potential than the Chelsea star.

With his 190 centimetres, 94 kilograms and shoesize 49; Romelu is a monster physically. He can barge almost any player off the ball and doesn't have trouble handling physically present centrebacks. Even though he has this pure strength, he'll have to get more experience to use his bodyside more efficiently though I'm sure this will come with time.

Not only is Lukaku a really strong athlete, he also has the finishing skills and functional technique that go with top class young talents. In front of goal, he's absolutely lethal (hence the star) and I believe he could even get higher if I didn't try to be so careful with the ratings of his finishing ability. He also has quite a good header for a kid his age, although his size does help him an awful lot in this. His first touch is also very good and as I said, he has great functional technique. You won't see him dribble past 5 men but he can trap a ball very well and has the ability to round a goalkeeper or defender on his way to goal.

He needs a boost in TS. He takes some time to get pace (relatively low ACC), but when he reaches it he's almost unstopable. For example, today he matched Kyle Naughton's pace (TS 88) when facing him a couple of times. Maybe 87 is a good number for Lukaku in TS.

You're right, it's been like that every time he plays. Though I'd also lower his ACC by one or two points.

Yep, there's a bigger gap in TS/ACC. I'd say TS 87 ACC 81 is the deal.

I saw him in a few races against Norwich.
It takes time to reach its maximum speed.
I agree with TS: 87 and ACC: 81.
hopefully have more opportunities with AVB.
He is lacking confidence.

I wasn't a follower of him in his Anderlecht days but, is he THAT agile? He didn't play much with Chelsea but he didn't show anything worthy of a yellow.

What was the point in keeping him all season if he wasn't going to play? He's gone from world prodigy to nobody in a year. Poor management from Chelsea's perspective

Well it stopped anyone else from buying him. I don't think the 'New Drogba' tag helped either. It was probably Drogba's continuing good form that hindered him.

It's not often I say this about an opposition player, but I was actually quite excited to see him this year

Yup, luckily he's very young. Feyenoord would be great. With him replacing Guidetti, they could possibly suprise in the qualification rounds and claim a CL spot.

That's what you get with an extreme short-term mentality. No room for grooming young players here.. But I still have a little bit of hope left.
