Dwayne de Rosario

Postby PES Stats Database » 2008 Dec 11, 11:56

This is the other player that is arguably the best in the MLS (that has come up through MLS)...and hes canadian! :o

Good attacking center midfielder, focuses more on the attacking side than defensively. Hes not a liability, but they don't ask him to do much defending as they have Clark right beside him. Very good technical skills, very good shot, from pretty much any angle. Good passer, links wells with teammates, he is definitely a playmaker. He doesn't work overly hard, but hes not a loaf on the field, he does have spells where he drifts in and out of games. Has a good free kick to go along with his game, there is no doubt this guy has the skills to play on a midtable european team.

*The argument about MLS's best is that Joseph controls a game, but this guy can take them over.

I'm in favor of the increases as well.

HIs current stats have him very underated. He has been one of the best players if not the best in MLS for years now.

De Rosario was traded to Toronto FC on December 12, 2008 in return for Julius James and allocation money. 8-)

So he strikes the ball incredibly well but lacks accuracy in a lot of his shots? I would love to see an analysis of his shooting abilities, some video examples would go down aplomb.

I honestly think his Acc was made so low, because his other two shooting stats were so high. He can shoot from anywhere, and his accuracy isn't bad, but too high would likely make him a beast...I'll post some vids in the 1st post 8-)

I added a video. It was made in may 2007...so there aren't any recent highlights. But some of these are legendary. It really worth your time.

His Accel and speed stats seem odd to me considering his Dribble Speed is 83.

I disagree with this logic. Just because a player is slow, doesn't mean he loses a lot of speed on the ball. Just as a general rule. I honestly think there should be more people that are like this speed and in the 90's in DS...because they might be just as fast on the ball as off. You know what I'm saying :ugeek:

It just seems strange that he gains 6 points in speed with the ball. That's quite a leap! Possible but doesn't sound quite right.

I think he is a bit faster in speed and accel, certainly acceleration. He is quite explosive in his first few steps.

I think his dribble speed is actually correct, I just think his accel and speed could go up a bit.

80 in technique is very high, I cant see him being better technicaly than de guzman, 77 max in technique

I disagree. In fact I think 80 is too low for him. His touch is very good.

Problem is De Guzman is way too low, he needs to be yellow for technique.

Going by these stats he'd be the best player in the SPL by a long shot, hoping the move actually happens.

Keep in mind..this guy is one of the MLS all time greats.

I do agree though that he is due fora bit of a downgrading. I'll update him after the nrby gives the ok.

Decent move by NYRB, do Toronot need more strikers though?
