I see some parts of the match, he did well, nothing special, but he finally give the assist (really great, from the half of pitch) to Jordi Alba/Levante own goal (not sure about who finally touches the ball) and score a free kick, but the free kick was a bit weird, he shooted from about 30 m, seems to search the first post, but the amazing curl confuse Munúa and the ball finally enter for the center of goal :?

Tino Costa is definitely a terrific distance shooter. Shame that he didn't get his chances earlier this year, but with the way Banega had been playing, who could blame Emery for not selecting him?
Interist wrote:after watching today assist I was going to ask for 1-touch play, just notice he got the star but not the card. Should he have it or not?

I feel like he should. He often plays some nice 1-touch passes in addition to the assist you saw against Levante.

Just some thoughts:

-He´s not such a good short passer, he struggles when he has to organize by his self Valencia´s offensive. He shines only with long passes or, when he is close to the box, with some nice through pass.
-Main POS should be CMF, AM optional.
-He is a real fighter, runs a lot, fights, covers a lot of field and makes a lot of pressing. MEN should be higher I guess.
-Since he came to Valencia, has been injured quite often, wouldnt say COND 7.

I dont have a full same vision. He covers ground, he defends and stuff but It's not that I see him as an extremelly high mentality player.

Well, I dont know if you see him often. Maybe we just have different point of view. But IMO he is much more of a Mentality player than pure TECH. In fact, his TEC is quite average, but he makes up by giving always his maximum, fighting a lot, and shooting like a madman.

Sometimes he surprises us Valencia fans with some quality passes, but believe me, he doesnt make that on a constant basis, he usually goes for the easy pass or looses the ball.

I know, he's everywhere and stuff. It's easier If you give him higher DEF. I probably underrated his def a bit thinking sliding could make It up.

I dont really think its a matter of DEF, cause his positioning without the ball is nothing impressive.

IMO he needs more STA (he runs and runs for the 90 minutes) and MEN.

It wont neccesarily make him an impressive defender. Look at xavi, he's rated at 61 at this moment, but Isn't Tino Costa better than him anyway? You will see him pressing the opposition on the midfield more often and doing those runs he could do to his own area to recover the ball.

I think his shooting power should be orange, and so his curl. For instance, the free kick goal against Levante (look at the power and curl!):

Yeah I actually rated them both at an orange value on my thread, so I agree with that.

This guy seriously needs a downgrade in TEC. He struggles controlling balls, his first touch has been horrible this season (was never something special, but this season is simply awful). As I said before, Tino was never a classy player. He only shines (when he shines, that´s not often this season) because of his terrifying shoot and his fighting spirit.

If you dont see this player often you can get confused because of his amazing goals. Every now and then he even makes a nice long pass or gives a good through ball. But, believe me, he is quite poor in his short passing game, loses a lot of balls under pressure or goes for the pass to the CB´s or keeper.
