Fernando Torres | 2003-2006 | 2007-2010 | 2011-2012

Postby Mr. Evans » 2009 Jun 14, 19:43

Nickname: "El Niño" (The Kid)

Club: Liverpool FC

Growth type: Standard

INFO:
Regarded as one of the best strikers in European football, Torres is still young but already has a big reputation at both club and international level. He has won a whole host of caps and scored 18 goals for Spain, including one in the Euro 2008 final. Arrived from Altletico Madrid and is Liverpool's record signing. Scored 55 goals during 5 seasons for his previous club with only David Villa and Samuel Eto'o scoring more goals during that period. Known for his ability to lose markers with his pace and movement, he is also a composed and clinical finisher in front of goal. For Liverpool he has gone from strength to strength, breaking all sorts of club and league records, including the one for most goals scored in a debut season for a foreign player in the Premier League. The award was previously held by goal-getter Ruud Van Nisterooy. Since joining Liverpool he has reached a Champions League semi-final and won the European Chamionship 2008.

So any major objections to updating to Mr.Evans set with ST at 87 and agility at 85?

This is taking too long, so updated to Mr. Evans set. Any suggestions, problems?

I have to admit, I think Phil was right on his DA (83). What do you think?

I don't think there was such gap in technique between At. Madrid times and Liverpool ones, actually there is 4 points gap, watching some videos this christmas about 90's and 00's of La Liga and I think he doesn't deserve an 87 on his technique on At. Madrid. I haven't tested anything, but somethink like the best Sheva (85) should be enough.

I personally doubt there should be any gap at all. Would leave Atletico set at 84 at max.

I don't know how reliable this set is, can anyone comment on its overall accuracy? Shouldn't ATT be higher for one thing?

Could attack be higher, current RVP is 93, and torres during this era was surely easily as strong offensively?

^ Good set, but he was quicker than this, he was like lightning at liverpool and I think the speed stats in OP accurately replicate that. I like the shooting stats and attack could even be 93 imo.

To be honest, his prime set in the DB seems pretty good on his own, could do with minimal tweaks, maybe 92-93 attack (I remember him being really dangerous in his best Liverpool days, he gave the feeling that he could produce a goal from any kind of situation, would be ok to have him at current Falcao's level IMO). SA and ST could do with a +1 (both), maybe Agility down one or two points and DS up to 85 as in the set posted by jurgens.

Dunno why we have prime set's passing values lower than the early set (Atlético de Madrid days). That could use some changes too.
