Have been watching since beginning of the season, and can't say i'm overly impressed with Matuidi. He's for sure team orientated, always looking to get on the ball early on and distribute horizontal balls, but playmaking* is too much. He doesn't orchestrate or dictate plays. He's no different from makelele in this aspect only he's a tad more adventurous with his passing and forward runs. Would lower defence by 1pt. I don't think he's reached that level yet. Glad to see he has no covering*, he doesn't shield the CBs like he should, often running out of position to close down an attacking player, often leaving gaps behind. Passing stats are quite generous. Actually I think a stat-for-stat comparison with M'Vila is in order

M'Vila is more accomploshied in the holding role. So long as he has covering*, having a lower defence stat is ok but not by 2pts I don't think. M'Vila IMO shows better awareness and reading, IMO he should have a higer response of the two. M'Vila is technically superior IMO, with a more refined touch and control. His current calues are fine, I would only lower Matuidi to sit lower.

As for passing, IMO M'Vila is better both in long and short, in terms of speed/range and accuracy. M'Vila's current SPA and SPS are fine, so maybe lower Matuidi keeping SPS higher. Not sure about long passing values but I rate M'Vila as LPA @ 82 and LPS @ 84. Curling is too much, higher than Payet? From his passes/crosses, it shouldn't even be in yellows. With his current LPA/LPS/curling he should be on corner or freekick, not payet.

So, in sum:

BB @ 82-83
Acc @ 82 - good burst, he's not easy to run around or past.
Response @ 81-82
Agility @ 78 - for such a short and light, not very deft or graceful in his movements.
SPA @ 79
SPS @ 81
Curling @ 79

Your suggestions are really good. IMO Response and BB to 82 both. I kept SPA to 80 also. Agree with the rest.

IMO we could add Sliding card: everytime I saw him, he delivers a lot of tackles but there are also very precise. I don't have statistics to prove it...

Imo, He falls way too much to ground to deserve 82, combative?, yeah, strong? meh. I find 80 more than enough.

Res could get a touch, he is everywhere! and yeah like Rfuna said: "often running out of position to close down an attacking player, often leaving gaps behind" he still have that kind of play, sure he is not Vidal, but still his best quality.

In game, I found him everywhere but more on offensive positions - always the most offensive player (higher in the pitch than the strikers both in NT and club ).
The Response-Agression-TW is too high IMO - I decrease : Agression to 71 and TW to 81.

Or just removed card *center, I remember that I had the same problem with Gonalons, he was too offensive and going into the box many times and I realized it was because of card *center.

But I'm not against a decrease in TW.

I updated his WFF to 3. He rarely use his right foot, always used the left one. And I decrease his SPA by one points and raise SPS to 83. He sometimes loose easy passes but he always put speed on it. Can make fast short passes on the turf.

We updated in silence but I think we need to speak more about him, this season he's really great. He's running everywhere, he's at least the only one who had the good behaviour on the turf at PSG in September/October. He's such good that Verratti is now a sub.
