I remember getting into an argument when I made these stats over justifying his mentality. Guess he's proving it and then some for me.

he proves great passing skills, good long passing also found Meireles with a fantastic pass in the end of the game today...

Yeah, his long and short passing are both coming on leaps and bounds, but it's probably something that should be discussed at the end of the season with 3 or 4 more games under his belt.

PS. I can't understand either of the cards he has at the moment. He isn't exactly a box-to-box midfielder, and should clearly be replaced by Enforcer come the end of the season. He is a pitbull and perhaps combined with marking tend to cut out the majority of plays that fall into his "zone".

Agree with Fish, he's better than this on current form. Definitely more agile, quicker and a bit better on the ball. He's made some very good passes these couple of games. Low and hard. Reminds me a little of stevie's short passes. Lot of pace in them,

He isn't exactly a box-to-box. Like say Stevie when he makes his all action displays. But Jay does run a lot and covers a lot of space which I think is the reason he has this card. He is however more of an enforcer than box-to-box. Unless we can find a different way to portray his massive work-rate without giving him too high stats. I think box-to-box is still viable for him atm.

he is a mixer of box to box + enforcer.
every matches he played was influential in the mid-field,winning lots of balls, making lots of sliding. he is more comfortable in defending and short passing, likes to build a play but less creative.also he doesn't move too much to the opposition box, likes to play far behind from the front players.
also long ranger is fair for him.he often shoots from distance,he likes it.

vamos arriba la celeste !

good point about the long range shooting, he has a realy hard and quite precise shot..

i watched him moving closely today against Newcastle...they seem to form a triangle like this most of the match..

Meireles --------- Spearing

--------- Lucas --------------

Spearing is more a CM than DF for me, he often goes more up in field, he is everywhere, defending and giving passes to the wings...very good player this matches and seems that Kenny Dalglish rates him a lot.. could be a great squad player for LFC in future...maybe also starter.. if he conitnues in this great form.

I disagree with calling him less creative, for me he knows very well how to ballance the game, he often proved it with good pass to full backs, rather than quick not clever pass to front line.. he has great vision i would say...he balances the midfield with his passes and the move to attack is very fluent with him as CM..

I would actually give him enforcer too. Or at least covering. since him and lucas are like 2 lynchpins in the middle. Holding it all together. Keeping everything in check. hustling and harrasing opponents.

He needs a bump in terms of passing , agi, res, tech and da.

Middle Shooting should be removed mate, coming from the person who originally made these stats. He hasn't proven anything like his shooting abilities since being in the first team.

Shot power 87? seems a touch high.
Also I'm not sure he's deserving of enforcer.
SPA may be a point or two too high, with his SPS that will make him more effective on short passes than Lucas which isn't the case.

I'm not arguing over hard shots, he's always had them and at lower levels of opposition they used to fly in and then some. But now he has stepped up his shots retain the power but because he is being closed down better against stronger opposition and perhapos reasons I can't even fathom the accuracy has somewhat faulted. Perhaps he is simply lacking confidence in that department and it's a time and perhaps maturity issue, but at this present time I just don't feel he merits the card.

Surely he needs an overall update now? Has been playing regularly since Lucas has been out. He has done well in most games (and been questionable in a few as well). Think maybe a raise in defence is a good start.

What kind of update? He's already got really good, accurate stats. I think he's a quality little player, very tidy if not a bit gormless. I think that's represented well here.

i suggest to add one touch pass to him... + update main position to DM, he is the cover for Lucas and always playes as link between defence and midfield...

remove middle shooting, he doesn´t shoot a lot anymore, he did playing for reserves...sometimes he tries but not to much often..
