While is Technique is above Yaya Toure, Barton, Essien and loads of others, I don't know where the first part of that post comes from.
I'd rate him above all them CM's in terms of DA, which he is. Looking at the players at the same level as him, I'd say he is above the likes of Adam, Denilson and Barry personally in his ball control. His agility is his main weapon in dribbling but he just looks so assured and in control when dribbling, even at high speeds, which should also be considered and shows very good close control even in tight spots. I'd see no problems with him on 84 and even higher in the future.
Again, he is rightly above the players mentioned who are below him in technique. Its true that his 1st touch isn't always perfect as it can at times just bounce off of him, similarly like Torres & Drogba (in their prime, particularly Torres, and they're on 86) but his 2nd and 3rd touches are always classy and he has such an elegance and flair about his style of play that is uncommon in English players (particularly CM's). Also he can display some sublime touches at times too. Not sure what I'd give him though.

What do you mean, the bit about him looking unrefined ? I just meant that sometimes the ball can go astray at times but his general ball control and technique is very good. He can dribble in tight spaces and shows some classy touches. I don't see Park Ji Sung or Wright-Phillips as being on the same level as him in ball control and players like Kalou aren't above him in technique imo.
