Ron Vlaar

A very talented, young centreback that has been troubled by injuries througout his career. Vlaar debuted aged 20 for AZ and had since impressed Dutch crowds all over the country, often being named the next Jaap Stam before moving to Feyenoord on a 3 year deal in 2006. During the U21 EC a year later, Vlaar hurt his knee and was out for a long time. The 2008-2009 proved to be a disappoint for Ron too, spending much of the season on the stands with multiple niggling injuries and some bad knee injuries.

Recently, Vlaar has impressed in the centre of defence along with Bahia and Van Dijk; having conceded 0 goals for Feyenoord so far in the 09-10 season.

Good stats but I am not sure about his TS and ACC. I think he is a little bit slower then average (probably due to all his injury trouble) and would give him TS: 78/79 ACC: 77

and his STA also looks abit high IMO.

I think his SP can go up. I also remember his long free kicks from his AZ period. 86/87 would be more accurate.
DEF could go up to 79/80 aswell.

I think his TW should be 81/82. His weak foot isnt poor either. 6/6 would be fair I think.

The ELF seizoensgids bills him as 190/85. Does make sense if you ask me. At least his weight need to go up a little.

Shot Technique: 66 (+4)
He's shown in the past that he can shoot from range with a clean strike of the ball.

Agree, 66 would be the minimum but he can easily be higher imo. Vlaar can hit the ball cleaner than many Eredivisie midfielders. In my OF I have him at SA 66 and ST 70. This makes him quite dangerous if he gets the space to shoots but that's what he is in real life as well..

Good stats, i have some suggestions:

i think he's DA and DS could go up, i suggest DA 74 and DS 74 aswell
IMO he has the same dribble stats as De Vrij.

IMO he's LPA could go up? he has descent long passes, 74/75 maybe ?

Jump maybe 82?

and final, i think he's technque is slightly better, maybe 74?

He takes free kicks, so FK ACC should definitely be raised, maybe curling a bit.
Perhaps Side: L. He always plays as a LCB. Even when he plays with Bahia (who is left-footed) in the centre, Bahia plays as a RCB and Vlaar as a LCB.

Yes your right i first thought he was left when he began to play at AZ. I suggest WFF 7 maybe even 8. He is quite good with he's other foot. Today for example against AZ he dribbled with he's left foot 'perfect'. And he scored also goals with he's left.

Some other thing. His passing is about the same as Bahia. Bahia even has higher LPA. I think Vlaar is definitely a better passer than Bahia. So his passing should be raised or Bahia's lowered.
