The same goes for his Header by the way.

In terms of balance he wasn't exactly, strong.... but man he was a colossus when tackling hard in the challenge and had a lot of bite, but he wasn't a majorly strong player, very similar to Ferdinand (whom I rate at an 84/85 in terms of balance) but had a good centre of gravity so wasn't easily pushed off the ball.

In terms of heading and jump, I remember distinctly he was caught under a couple of balls when challenging defensively, offensively he was unreal, defensively at times he was a bit erroneous.

I'm really pleased to hear you say that. I've had Ferdinand at 84 BB for a long time, and had numerous fights with my brother accusing me of under-rating him. So how about that ferdinand update? :)

Hmm I guess you're right.

well he is quite an imposing CB with these stats...and his DEF seems a tiny bit too high IMO it could be on par with the "new" Pique. The combo of DEF, RES + covering makes him a really REALLY good defender, i just think it could be tweaked a little...

Stats are well rated I say, hopefully his condition can come up if he can prove to string games consistently at a high level. The only thing I am not sure is his weight, I am sure he looks somewhere around 75kg-76kg (also saw him listed as 75kg somewhere) there is no way he weighs more than Rooney or as much as some players at that weight.

Comparing the shooting stats of CB's to other positions I feel like Vermaelen could sit on a value of 72/73 for SA and maybe see a point raise of ST to 75. He's just as impressive as a lot of midfielders in this department, really.

Agree with you Vranny. He showed in his Ajax days and his debut season that he's a very good shooter for a CB, surprising people with some pretty impressive clean connections and not just hitting straight through the middle.

I think lushoxfloow was trying to say his TECH should go up and I agree with him. His first touch is better than 76, I'd put him on a 78. And his speed stats need changing. He's faster than this over distance but his ACC isn't this good. TS 83/ACC 78 for me. That said, that was before the injuries but we can't do anything about that right now.
And what do people think about his BAL? I think it can go up a point but I'm not sure..

If I compare him too the Eredivisie players I think BB: 85 (on level with Alderweireld, Vlaar, Wisgerhof, and 1 point higher then Derijck, Bouma and Ooijer) seems fine to me.

Some advice, since your a new member you have to add argumentation for your suggestions otherwise you'll just get ignored.

But he fights for the ball till the last minute and completes 90 minutes , I think he should be on par with prime Rio ferdinand. What do u think.?
