Going by the name of Brek, Dane Brekken Shea started out as a football player in high school and is one of the few MLS players to skip college football and go straight into the professional divisions through a Generation Adidas contract. In 2008, with just 17 years of age, he was picked up in the 2008 SuperDraft by FC Dallas, the Texan growing into a solid squad member in the next 3 seasons at the club.
The funky-haired Shea is Dallas' utility man, having played as a winger, full-back and midfielder on either side of the pitch as well as filling in as central defender and striker at times. He was also the first 90's kid to get a cap for the USMNT.
