Talented holding midfielder, Carrick has won over 10 caps for England at international level. He joined Manchester United in 2006 from West Ham and has played regular first team football since his arrival. During the 2007/08 season he made a good contribution in both domestic and UEFA Champions League competition despite his manager's rotation policy. Carrick has impressive vision, distribution and good positional sense.

i think you should take a look at some of carricks goals and shots, IMO his SP at 85 i EXACTLY where it should be !

There's just few cases (if you want to refer to the 7-2 match to Roma), but it's in the past. His recent goals this season prove that he is a good finisher (not outside the box). By the way, you still think his shots are powerful than Tevez?

I Personally believe he can hit long passes just as well as Xabi Alonso at times, Xabi just does them more frequency and with more pace while Carrick floats them over to players with great precision.

Those recent suggestions about his shooting made my eyes bleed to be honest.

I don't think so. He can be quite reluctant to make forward runs into the oppositions half at times.

Don't get influenced by those little clips on MOTD that say he comes forward like a box-to-box midfielder because he doesn't he still is reluctant to come forward and doesn't get forward as much as Alan Shearer suggests he comes forward sometimes but your still kinda suprised to see him in the box.

Yeah, Don't get me wrong, Im not one to argue with the immense punditry of Alan Shearer ( ) but i did go overboard in saying that hes turning into a box-to-box midfielder, but coming forward more is certainly something hes added to his game this season and hes getting better at it everytime i see him.

Don't know or care what they say on MoTD (I don't watch it anymore). Carrick has been getting forward far more than he ever has. I'm not sure why that is. He's looking far better because of it, though.

Hopefully he can keep his form up.
