I'm not sure about his baseline runs...for me it seems more out of a half-position if he is attempting it and in this case it would be a Early Cross ;)

I had the impression he went definitely more forward in the last weeks, it seems he got more self-confident during the first leg since he earn the reliance of Felix Magath.

this is absolutely correct. he is still very young and came from a weaker league. Once he had to get used to the nieveu, but I think he is stronger from week to week.

he played and started as centerback today for japan in the asian cup

not suggesting any change of stats or position or anything, just an FYI

weird call though, placing a wingback at centerback... imagine seeing alves or dossena at center back...

Are you saying about vs Qatar match? Uchida didn't play this math because he was suspended. So, Inoha played the match instead of him.

And Japanese CBs are always Yoshida & Konno pair during this Asian Cup. After Yoshida sent off with 2nd yellow card, Iwamasa substituted for CF Maeda to fill CB place. At last, after Inoha scored Japanese 3rd goal, then 3-2, another CB Nagata came in substituting for Kagawa. It was for last defense and they won.

I guess you are misunderstanding about this case. But, if you are following this Asian cup, your suggestion will help us. :D

He'll be the first Japanese player who plays UCL semi final. There is his funny comment.
Uchida's recent comments about Manchester United

"Our opponents are soccer players, just like us. It's not as if they have Pikachu in their team"

Hilarious ! Good to see he's in good spirits. Task will be difficult against Man U but not impossible.

I agree with Farfan17 that he passed a cap in his career, he is now an essential piece of his team. Frustrated the hell out of Eto'O and effectively reduced his threat, all of this while raiding Inter's camp non-stop.
He's now more mature tactically and improved defensively in comparison to the player he was few months ago. Japan is lucky to have him and Nagatomo in the same starting 11. Not to mention Michi Yasuda who's following their steps.

Hes a pretty poor crosser and just in general bad in his passing, I'd lower his lpa a good bit. Also, I think hes under-rated in response/stamina and maybe def, hes pretty good defensively.

The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge.

For his passing game: SPA: 73, SPS: 71, LPA: 75 and LPS: 72 ??

About STA, he covers long distances fine with 88. Not sure about higher RES, he is very dynamic as almost all Japanese players but in terms of reaction. No. But going to centre in defensive situations can be possible a 77. Finally, DEF: 68.

His pace was lowered too much in the last update I think..He doesn't show it often, but for the sake of comparison, Ribéry (87/92) wasn't capable of outrunning him most of the time, Uchida frequently caught up with him. Speed is an essential part of his defensive game.

He also seems a bit more agile then these stats suggest. I think his AGI is one of his pinpoints of his game. His DA seems nothing special though IMO.

He should be above Lahm in terms of agility.

I think it's an outrage that there's such a huge difference between Fuchs and Uchida in this parameter, Uchida's defensive positioning is merely better than the Austrian's. His speed and green RES are enough for him to defend well. And I agree with Helios that he could be faster again.
