Barry Bannan: If you've seen Barry Bannan play football then you'll be a Barry Bannan fan. There's no getting away from it Barry is small. He's smaller than the average youth footballer. He's smaller than the average youth footballer by about a foot. He makes up for it in heart; he's got a look about him of a young man who's going to prove the world wrong. He can play a bit too, he passes the ball very well from midfield, and he's dogged when not in possession. He brings enourmous energy to a game, and will run all day. If only he was a foot taller.

I've heard alot of good things about Barry. I've only seen him a few times but I like the little guy. His Balance (even with a height/weight change), short passing and TW look a touch harsh though I know this set hasn't been touched in a while. Anyone got any thoughts in here?

When he played as a CMF the other week his passing was sublime, far better on the ball when he has time then on the flanks.

He hasn't looked this short to me, obviously he's tiny, but not sure if this is 100% accurate or not. Can't comment on his passing just yet though, I'd have to watch him more closely

Looked just a touch smaller than Arshavin today so 170 looks about right. Those passing values sound fair enough for now. Given a long run in the team I feel he could push on from there, has a nice eye for a pass just the execution is lacking sometimes. On which note his TW would also need tweaking as has been mentioned by a few of us. For an inexperienced player in top-flight football he's come in and shown a good level of understanding with an ever-changing Villa lineup. He's shown good creativity though does lack on occasions picking the wrong option. I don't think the suggested values of TW: 78/79 would be out of the question, I'd probably opt for the former personally, fearing not to overrate him.

Don't remember seeing him shoot an awful lot but I think I remember a couple of shots from his debut for Scotland vs the Faroes that had a good degree of power on them. Any thoughts on his SP?

Hopefully he'll still get games even when injured players come back.

I'd say 82 for his Shot Power, his Response looks underrated as well, it could come up to around 78-79, as could his DA. I agree with the SPA/SPS/TW suggestions, he definitely warrants 76/77/78.

His Agility could certainly do with a rise. His ball retaining abilities are more so based around his very small and nimble body than his technical skills. Generally changes direction really quick, twisting and turning his way out of danger.

AB1 has got it spot on for me. Many times in a match he'll quickly turn the onrushing player in order to create space to get a pass away, does it fluidly too, higher than these stats suggest. An 85 wouldn't be overrating him there.

I think his technique deserves a rise to at least 80, maybe 81.. He certainly has a better first touch than the likes of Sidibe, Agbonnlahor and Poulsen that are all on either 80 or 81.
