Zinedine Zidane was the greatest footballer in the world during the early 2000s and is one of football's all-time greats. He earned his first cap with France as a substitute in a friendly against the Czech Republic on 17 August 1994, which ended in a 2-2 draw after Zidane scored twice to help France erase a 2-0 deficit. After Éric Cantona was handed a year-long suspension in January 1995 for assaulting a fan, Zidane took over the playmaker position. France were eliminated in the UEFA Euro 1996 semifinals in a penalty shootout by the Czech Republic after the match ended 0-0 in extra time. He moved to Juventus and helped them win two Sere A titles and 2 consecutive UEFA Champion league finals but lost both.

Zidane won the 1998 FIFA World Cup with France, scoring twice in the final against defending champions Brazil and won the FIFA World player of the year in that year. France then went on to win UEFA Euro 2000, becoming the first team to hold both the World Cup and the European Championship since West Germany in 1974. in 2001 he then signed for Real Madrid "Galacticos side". for a then world record fee of €78 million and signed a four-year contract. He scored the match-winning goal, a thunderous volley hit with his weaker foot, in Madrid's 2-1 win over Bayer Leverkusen in the 2002 UEFA Champions League Final completing this personal quadruple. The next season, Zidane helped Real Madrid to win the Spanish league title and was named the FIFA World Player of the Year for the third time. In fact He was voted in top five FIFA World Player of The Year for 9 times during 10 years between 1997 - 2006.

Zidane was perfect in his role setting organization of the game, superb ball control, precision passing combined with great physical strength. He has already considered by many in top ten the greatest footballers of all-time. In 2004, Zidane was finished as the best European footballer in the last 50 years by UEFA Jubilee Poll.

IMO, DA should be 99, the ball is ALWAYS under his control, impossible to steal it.

About his shots, i think that his ST should be orange numbers. His SP lowered by 2 points. And his SA increase 1 or 2 points.

Also i would keep his balance as it is now

Zidane was never fast, at pure speed, he was one of the worst players at speed during training at the WC 98 but where he is better than everybody is in his dribble speed, he never lost speed with the ball and that's great.

About his shooting stats I don't know really, it's true that his ST was really great and he showed that sometimes even in friendly matches So maybe ST in orange and a better SA like Ulises wrote it. never get tired of watching this goal one of all time best imo.

as for his stats - overall sims really good & accurate to me, one thing that doesnt seem right is agility (86), dont see him as agile as gullit, and even if gullit deserve more then 86 (which he probably does..), i dont think zidane worth’s it,
something more between 80-84 seem more representive to me.
its his superb technique that made him do all those wonderful things (including this amazing shot), rather then having high agility imo.

As for Agility, I don't think he's as wooden as people think. He did a lot of things in tight spaces, and players just couldn't get the ball off him. Maybe it's a bit of romanticism that makes me think his agility is worth 85/86, though?

Disagree in a raise in shooting stats, they are already very good for a midfielder, not that Zidane was just any midfielder , and I like secesor think his great shots were more down to technique 99. Besides he has;

Yet his scoring record is less than impressive for someone rated so highly in these categories. His records for Juventus including games/goals from all competions for the seasons he was at juve, when these stats are based on more or less;

I know scoring records are not the definitve answer to stats especially about a classic player such as Zidane where the whole world witnessed his skill as he was broadcast to every corner of the earth (and hours of footage is avialble to nitpick his precision), but they can be used to get an idea that the stats should assume to mimic him in PES. So I disagree to increasing his shooting too highly, in combination with the rest of his stats he would becom to powerful and would make him far too prolific in-game. Yes he was hindered a bit in Penalties and Free Kicks by competing with Del Piero or whoever to have a go, but the shooting attributes alone coupled with *Middle Shooting is very lethal, very easy to score loads of goals and even the COM has no problem in rattling off more than Zidane may have gotten.

In fact I think I might go in the opposite direction and suggest his Shot Accuracy to come down to 82, which would be as good as some decent strikers, and did Zidane really aim some those thunderbolts, more just cleanly powered them home right through the keeper.

On a similar thought I think he could have his Free Kick Accuracy lowered but his Curling raised, his freekicks are more memroable for power and curve than for clinical placment into corners. And the raise in curl would not affect his shooting from open play too much as he has the *Middle Shooting star so there is no problem with his shots starting to snake/curve their way to goal.

One thing that I would like to suggest for an increase, is his conditioning to 8, I know it was discussed on the old forum that he has some sort of biological Thalasama condition which makes him tire quickly thus his Stamina of 80, but he played in 1995-1998 he played 55, 48, 48 games in all club competitions, this does not include National team appearances. So he was at this point (leaving Bordeaux and first years at juve) really at his physical peak, before any of the groin problems he wouldface in Madrid or anything else, so corresponding with the era he is made for Conditioning 8 would be fine with his Stamina of 80, clearly still no Lampard .

One more aspect I still think could have some changes is his speed, he admited himself as being slow, more so when he started out in Cannes, but he was clearly not a player of pace but had the ability to be quick in that he would reach his average speed quickly and suprise defenders who got too close with a sudden unexcpected burst that would give him the edge of placing him ahead of the player and his strength and ball control would carry him through the rest of the way. Also I think a slight increase to Dribble Speed could be feasible, but I am not sure yet I will have to play with some numbers and to see. Brezza was/is worried that he was not as quickfooted as either Ronaldo, but I want to try and strike a balance between Zidane keeping as much speed as possible on the ball but having sort of normal/relaxed touches.

Yes Agility could prehaps come down to 84-85, still these values would not make him 'wooden' alcohomicide , as I have scored two overheads with him, very unlike a log.

there are more 2 footed players than zidane you know (Le Tissier, Maldini, Nedved, Sneidjer, Adriano of Sevilla, Bobby Charlton etc. there are better players than zidane also.

Zidane is the only player who scored more goals with his weaker foot than with stronger one, that I surely know(most of them scored out from 16 meters box).For example his debut for national team against Chezch Republic, than famous volley in CL finals in 2002, and my favourite lob from more than 40 meters while he was playing for Bordeux.I don't have links but you can easilly find it.
