overrated imo, he made good start and the rest was a complete failure, I don't think this guys is better than Ibrahim Toraman:

Attack:58
Defence: 80
Balance: 85
Response: 80
Agility: 73
Shot Accuracy: 64
Shot Technique: 65
Header: 80
Jump:82
Team Work: 79

I agree with suvorov. He looked really questionable duing the season and he didn't really look like he was improving. He just seemed to start on a "red arrow" and rapidly get shitter. First post is overrated.

Partially agree with you except for his attack, jumping and header.

He spent some time on the bench due to foreign player quota mostly because Sivok is a more versatile and functional defender than him as Zapo's style is more similar to Toraman's and Gökhan's. Also he demonstrated some poor performances in man-to-man defence against relatively fast and technique players as he lacks decent agility. Yet, he was very stable against aerial threats and additionally he managed to pose some threats against opposition's goalies during free kicks. And i read in somewhere that Zapo is another defender with forward origins and when he gets forward, he shows some good vision and composure i believe. There's no reason to lower his attack rate below average defenders. Finally, he's the primary penalty taker in Besiktas when he's on the pitch and although he scored only one (of one) penalty, judging from his composure and technique, he deserves a penalty star more than Yusuf Şimşek imho.

My suggestions related to my explanations:

Attack: 63
Header: 82
Jump: 83

others are good as Deniz suggested.

I guess attacking abilities of zapo can be reflected via agression if he makes forward runs like Zeta claimed. However I don't think he would has deserve more than 60 attacking/65 agression plus with a *penalty star. head&jump is okay to me.

well it's not about how many times he goes forward, but what he does when he goes forward. it's not like he runs forward whenever he finds the chance like Servet Çetin with no plan.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IL3wBaKJ ... re=related

here is the assist he made against Gaziantepspor at the start of the season. this is not a free kick or corner kick position like typical "centre back joining the attack" scenario. he dribbled with the ball until he came to opponent's half of the pitch, gave the ball delgado, kept running, received the ball back and gave the ball with a no-look through pass to leave Nobre one-on-one with keeper. You may argue by saying that he was lucky and that was only one position in one season, but i know many defenders who never made an assist like this in their entire career. Anyway, i believe he's better than Emre Aşık and Servet Çetin when it comes to attacking with the ball. I don't know if 60 would reflect that.

Some changes are in place. This guy is one of the most overlooked defenders in the league. He has all the characteristics of a libero and was only loaned out to Bursaspor because he wasn't able to forge a partnership with Gokhan Zan (who can?) and some mediocre performances. These are my notes on him:

*Good positioning
*Clean interceptions
*Knows how to treat the ball (Passing)
*Not very strong in the air
*Often makes his way into midfield to make an interception
*Mobile, but not quick
*Good balance, but not strong
*Vocal, but not bossy
*Not a good man marker
*Complicates situations
*Can't compensate for his partners mistakes
*Weak mentality. Collapses under pressure
*Reacts quick to situations
*Strong headers
*Attacking intelligence is good. Has libero characteristics
*Compared to Ronaldo Guiaro and Carlos Zago

The update doesn't really reflect him.

I think an update is required as his response is highle under rated, he performed well against fener and niang, even though niang should of had a hattrick but if it wasnt for zapo he would of had scored another 3 aswell.

Had a decent game tonight. He looks like a nice defender overall. He deserves less ACC from what I've seen, though. Something along the lines of 75-74. And I 'think' his DS is a point or two high? Can't tell, need to see more of him to be sure.

Thanks for your impressions, I'll pay more attention to his speed stats in the following matches. He did show some impressive runs in autumn, though.

Also, the problem of this set is that it's a hybrid between a CB set and a SB one. Now that Zápotočný has established himself as the regular RB, I might make some changes and shift a couple of stats more towards SB "standards".

Yeah I noticed that he looks like a SB/CB type-of defender. I guess his CB role doesn't give him enough space to run and show his full speed? I only saw one game of him so I can't be sure.

I think so, he obviously gets a lot more opportunities to show his speed when playing at RB. You know, he's primarily a CB but when he plays at RB, he's usually (not yesterday) a very attack-minded one who runs forward a lot (even into the opposition's box) and his runs are often pretty fast. You might be right that his ACC isn't anything special, though, it's surely his TS that stands out more.

And by the way, I'd love to see your input on some other Sparta players (like Matějovský, Krejčí, Kadlec, Lafata) as well, if you have the time and if you have something interesting to point out. Thanks! :)
