Pedro Mendes. A Fratton favourite. Why? Because it was partly him who saved Portsmouth from relegation in 2005/2006. His goals kept Portsmouth in the top flight and two seasons latter they have there best season for 53 years. So what is so special about him? Well like I've mentioned already he can score goals, long range goals. He is great at scoring from distance and has scored many spectacular goals. Pedro is very much a central player and you will rarely see him out wide unless he is covering for a team mate. He links up with his team mates very well, rarely gives the ball away and is a great passer. Mendes can set up attacks with his accurate and well weighted through balls. He is also decent from set pieces. He is not bad technically and has a good first touch. You will rarely see him miss control the ball and is quite calm under pressure. Pedro also tries hard, is quite determined and rarely gives in. However, he isn't the tallest or the strongest in the premier league but he can hold his own. He also isn't very quick or good at heading.
