Alan Gow is a decent player. It's a funny one because Walter Smith signed him and he has only featured twice and it was in two cup games against East Fife and East Stirling. Rumours circulating that he had a fall out with McCoist. He's got good technique and is skillful with good vision and is a big strong lad who is hard to budge off the ball. The only downside of his game is that he isn't the quickest. However, his attitude is second to none. According to quite a few Rangers fans who I speak to on another forum, Gow worked exceptionally hard in training and doesn't get involved in today's drinking culture and is 100% committed. Even in his time of getting dropped from Rangers' squad for countless games, he never had a bad word to say, didn't go running to the press etc. Could be a good player in the future. Gow started his career at Clydebank in 2000, before joining Airdrie United in 2002, where he remained for 3 years making 76 appearances and scoring 26 goals for the Diamonds. He then shot to prominence after joining up with John Hughes at Falkirk in 2005, and became one of the Bairns' most influential players, making 82 appearances and scoring 18 goals. The 27 year-old joined Rangers on a free transfer in 2007 with Gow subsequently spending time on loan at both Blackpool and Norwich City. Rangers sold the midfielder to Plymouth last August, and he has made 10 appearances for the Pilgrims this season. He's been disappointing so far in his loan move to Hibernian and I'd thought he was going to challenge Nish for that support striker role, having a bit of height amongst other things, but he just seems to have the common theme amongst Hibs players of not being up for the fight.
