i wouldn't know where to start. you make out as if angola is some war torn country rife in bullet casings and body bags. The war has been over for quite sometime and Angola is rather peaceful (there are other things beside sport that hold the country together, particularly dance and music, also Angola is abundant in oil and minerals and is in fact one of the fastest growing economies in the world) . The reason why Angola was host was to give the country the opportunity to prove itself and attract foreign wealth and investment. Mali and Burkina Faso also hosted, using it as a developmental tool, and have prospered. So that was the logic behind the move (albeit a controversial one) to build the nation and uplift its people. And in fact there were in fact very few signs such an attack would take place, the rebel group had signed a peace deal back in 2006, and so everything was relatively quiet and peaceful (even according to FIFA authorities (inspection team) and the US State Dept. and living in the US myself, that saying quite a lot ). I had never even heard of this rebel group until this past week. Still, one has to wonder though why Togo chose to driveinstead of flying to Cabinda city directly when instructed to do so. Why did the Togo government sent Airplane to bring them back to Togo and did not give them a plane to go to Angola in the first place? After all, the other participating nations arrived trouble free.

In any case, I take it you're Spanish, should we argue that Spain or Portugal is unsafe to host any sports tournament because of separatist violence/terrorist attacks in the region?
