What do you mean finally? I used to have a really good one on the old forum of Adebayor but...erm...permitigating circumstances arose. :?

All we need is for Chris to have one now. I shall badger him until he can be badgered no more. Speaking of which:

I already have an avatar ya silly sperm whale.

Alf Ramsey: "I'll be watching you for the first 45 minutes and if you don't work harder I'll pull you off at halftime."
Rodney Marsh: "Crikey Alf, at Manchester City all we get is an orange and a cup of tea."

Not sure if his response could be that high. It's very close to Arshavin's level, IMO 81/82 would fit him a bit better.
Another thing, his dribble speed. He's pretty fast with ball, but not sure if more than Higuain for example. I'm afraid he's overrated now, don't you think?

I know that i don't know anything.

I agree about decreasing his response.. 81-82 seems fair for me

Wenger said that vela has a bigger top speed than acceleration as he came 2nd to walcott in the speed test so i think his top speed should be increased to around 89 or 90 .

He came second to Walcott in a 40 metre race. That kind of distance involves pure acceleration, Top Speed isn't really involved at all.

Moreover, what Wenger says is completely different to what Vela does on the pitch. For example, Mark Hughes called Joleon Lescott "the Best Defender in the Premier League", and suffice to say that his performances at both Everton and Manchester City haven't exactly shown this.

"Certainly Theo could have been a 100 metre runner. But Carlos Vela is very fast as well and Armand Traore is not far behind him."
Wenger said that vela>87 is faster than traore>90
you should consider changing one or both of them

gooner said that this is about acceleration
both vela and traore have 91
so how can vela be faster in the race no matter how long is it when his speed is lower than traore and they have the same acceleration??
I just need an explanation to fully understand how this works out, no hard feelings :P

Wenger is on about sprints in training and stuff. We rate them on what they show in the match so that they play realistically. A player with spikey trainers on instead of boots on a nice running track might well do 100 meters in 10.2 seconds, but it doesn't mean that when on the footy field and faced with opponents they ever use that pace to the level a 10.2 would suggest. ;)

Take these comments from managers as a pinch of salt - for instance Heskey used to be faster across a pitch length than Owen, but he hardly looked it did he? We rate him on how he uses speed and acc in games.

"When we were winning leagues and European Cups at Real I always said Makelele was our most important player. There is no way myself Figo or Raúl would have been able to do what we did without Claude and the same goes for Liverpool and Gerrard."

the times they run off the game are not necessarily making him that fast in the game actually. Players time their runs, conserve their energy or some simply aren't as secure on the pitch with boots than others.

I think he's quite overrated at the moment. In game he can be pretty lethal with the current stats. I'd drop his speed stats by a couple of points, all this talk about Wenger stating he is 2nd to Walcott in speed is ridiculous if you watch him DURING a game. Yes he does look fairly pacy, but he does not exhibit this enough in a match situation. I don't know if this is a injury related issue (he has been in and out of team all year, didn't he play on injections for Mexico screwing himself up even more?) or lack of confidence/form, but I never see him do anyone for pace consistently.

He doesn't seem to know how to make proper runs, when to take on players, when to pass (a la Walcott), yes he prefers to play as a striker and he is always stuck out on the wing when he gets a chance (Walcott situation again), but he looks like a poor player right now. I actually feel embarrassed to use him in the game sometimes :)

Just a note, he's for certain a bit taller than this. If Franco is 182cm, Vela's not too far off, definitely not 7cm's shorter. Fifa have him at 179cm which seems a bit closer to me. Just using the naked eye he seems taller aswell.

Alf Ramsey: "I'll be watching you for the first 45 minutes and if you don't work harder I'll pull you off at halftime."
Rodney Marsh: "Crikey Alf, at Manchester City all we get is an orange and a cup of tea."

Indeed, he's struggled to get into the game apart from the good pass when he put Franco in.
