U know I'm sure this Gooner guy is a new stats maker that really just put random numbers on here with no explanation :P

What's your suggestion Paddy?

p.s. 80 isn't that bad for Defense. Not all starters in the Serie A have that value. His response is what is bad, but gooner fully explained why 8-)

Surely he's on par with Djourou for Defence.

Isn't Mentality on 85 a bit generous? :o

from what I remember he should have *covering..
he was always last man standing saving us from goals.

what about defense 82 and response 80 ? :P

That simply isn't the case. Michael Dawon is the kind of central defender that goes forward whilst someone, most notably Ledly King, would cover for him. Moreover, on the rare occasion that he does attempt to cover for his central defender he isn't that good at it.

He's definitely not an 82 for Defence, and I can't really see why his Response should be increased.

cause you are gooner.. hehe ;) kidding

last season when Dawson was not injured he was very very good for us, that's why.
Yeah King is surely a man with *covering star, but I remember many times Dawson was the last man, clearing the balls away from danger.
but then again, maybe that was because of his high mentality.

Should he have marking star then ?

I can't really see why he should have the Marking star alongside the likes of Distin and co., Dawson has a bad habit of letting the opposing striker get goal-side of him in set-piece situations and really doesn't cling to his marker - the opposite of what the Marking star would make him do.

I can fairly say that Michael Dawson, has really shined in the absence of John Woodgate and Ledley King missing games. He has shown some fine defensive quality over the course of the season and he seems to finally showed some consistency in his defending. There has been talk of updating Roger Johnson stats but in doing so Michael Dawson should get an update because these are outdated stats here. I

Based on his performances this season, you're certainly right. His Defence, Team Work and Response can all go up. However, the only issue is that he's been inconsistent in his overall perfomances per season (He hardly had the best 07-08 or 08-09 seasons, did he?). So whilst I'm going to raise certain stats, there is no way that such things as Defence should be above Roger Johnson because Roger Johnson has maintained a very high level of consistency, and thus an ability, in areas such as these over the last 3-4 seasons.

Not really, he's good but his sliding tackles aren't at the kind of standard that we've seen from guys like Wilfred Bouma and Kolo Toure (The first two that sprang to my mind).

I'd hardly call his passing decent. He's arguably one of the best passing centre backs in the league, his interplay with Bale is very impressive too, raise his long passing will you?

He has had a great season this year, his mentality is something to look at in the future. It is already really good now but I could see it a little higher eventually. Maybe response could go up a little too I feel he reacts very quickly to danger at the back, at least more than an 82 has to offer.

He really should have sliding, it's a really big part of his game.

Also, I really think it's an injustice to see his speed a whopping 9 less then King (but, then again, maybe it's just King's stats that shoud be tweaked).

It's really awful that he doesn't seem to make the cut in my team with 3 CB's, beeing worse than Corluka for the job, and he's arguably among the best CB's in the league.

What about Defence and Response update?

Don't you think that he deserves higher values?
