PES 2011 / 2010 Attack/Defence Awareness Card: Attack Minded
René and his twin brother Willy were squad members of the Dutch national team that made the World Cup final in 1974 and became key players in the team that made the 1978 final. Overall, René appeared 47 times for his country, scoring five goals.
He is well remembered due to the incident before the 1978 World Cup final, when the opponent Argentinians objected to the bandage he wore on his injured forearm. Despite the bandage had been passed by FIFA and worn in previous matches, the referee, Italian Sergio Gonella vacillated, while the Dutch players threatened to walk off the field. Finally an extra layer of padding was applied to the bandage as a solution, and the match could start.
He was named by Pelé as one of the top 125 greatest living footballers in March 2004.
Thanks again for a great player, look at attack rating this makes up there with Dzajic and Best and though his spacial awareness was fantastic and considering the versatality of Rene and his international goal scoring record is his attack really as good as those true wingers Best and Dzajic?
Yeah pretty awful stats from what ive seen of him.
His attack or finishing should be nowhere near Dzajics level, probably more around 82 , Holland played with 3 Winger/forwards up font and the they always alternated positions but Rep and Rensenbrink looked more confident moving into attacking central positions while V.D.K always preferred using his pace to cut in from wide positions
Speaking of pace He was much faster than this, easily just as fast as Rensenbrink and Rep. Really quick on the ball when he got going as well, he wasn't quite as cultured technically and Rep and Rensenbrink and he wasn't too agile by their standards either more a effective hardworking punt n run player type player who linked up well liked everyone else in the team. I was thinking speed high 80's low 90's Agility: 82 DA: 84 DS: 88-90
Good Example of his speed here: winning a penalty agaiasnt Iran 00:20
His crossing is quite hard to rate. Great cross to pick out Neeskens vs Iran and took a the majority of Holland Corners on the right side, but quite a few of his crosses were underhit at times.
Didnt see enough of his heading to comment wither I dont think the twins were both better in the air than Resenbrink who scored a couple of key headers in the world cup.
