Club: Arsenal

Growth Type: Standard

INFO:

Spoiler: show
Patrick Vieira is rated by so many as one of the best box-box/defensive midfielders between lately 1990s to early 2000s. Vieira possessed great all-round abilities, very strong defensively, good ball controll and passing and was a great organizer in midfield. He played major role to make that Arsenal team that would become best team ever in history of the club, helping them win three Premier League titles - one unbeaten - and four FA Cups. After leaving Arsenal in 2005, he spent one season at Juventus before joining Internazionale in 2006 where he won further honours, following Juventus' relegation for their part in a match-fixing scandal. He has 107 caps for France, and was part of their 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000-winning sides.

this might sound really weird, but i think he deserves *1-1 scoring. i've seen few players who have the same calm and confidence in one-on-one situations with the keeper. and with the low agression he has he won't have many scoring oppurtunities (like he didn't in real life) but he will be able to at least give the keeper some trouble when he does get in front of him (like he did in real life)

anyway, i'm just sugesting this cause i think it will emulate his shot style better

These stats need some changes...

ATT/DEF: The ratio is wrong, he wasn't this defensively inclined and am not sure he was this much better than Cambiasso or Mascherano. I'd probably raise attack by 1 and lower defence by 2 to get the att/def ratio of 74/80.

Balance: This is a bit over the top, yes he is very strong and a real battler in the middle of the park but 93 combined with his height and weight is too much, 89 is more appropriate.

Agility: His agility should be a fair bit higher, his turning was really quite neat, and considering his height and weight handicap, it could probably be around 81/82.

Passing: His passing I don't think was ever this good, his short passing could probably come down slightly with accuracy being 84 and speed being 86, whereas his LPA could come down to 81, it maay sound harsh, but he really ever tried long passes, and an 84 will make him try them quite a bit.

Shooting: His shooting stats look a bit wrong, his SP was never ever in the 'world class' range and relied more on accuracy than technique, his shot accuracy could sit on a 74, or a 75 if your feeling generous :P. Shot power should come down to 83 with ST on a 71.

Free Kick Accuracy & Curling: He never took free-kicks so FKA could come down to a 68, but he curled his passes quite nicely and his curling could sit on a 78 value.

Also not sure about header and *Passing.

Given a slight update 8-)

Raised agility . Not sure id rate it higher than Bentner who is at a similar height though.
Disagree with lowering shot power, current Vieira has 86. He could absolutely belt the ball given to chance.

Id say he deserves *passing. you could tell by the video in the first post that he used to play some cutting through balls through to Wright/Henry in his early days.
Agree with the rest.

He's scored more goals with his left foot than with his stronger right as you can see in the video (1st post).I'd increase WFA and WFF both up to 7

I just dropped it from that value. But Ive changed my mind :P to be honest he was one of the most physical imposing players in the premier league I don't think another player has had his kind of presence since. Bouba Diop maybe, but i reckon he would give him a run for his money. I believe a player once injured himself trying to tackle him  can't remember his name though.

Raised week foot accuracy ;)

What about *MS?
I really dont know if he deserves it or not, he scored a lot of goals from far distances, but most of them he curves the ball to make it go in and change direction.
As far as i know MS goes for like ''straight shots'' so ..
If not, we should update ST, it's low, he should be in GREEN, he scored beautiful goals, chips, far distance shots etc.

Mentality shouldn't be higher, imo, especially comparing to modern day players.

He is still playing so he is a modern player, I think his mentality could be higher in this period.

His DA could be a bit higher, though he was no Redondo he still had an excelent control of the ball, i'd give him 83.

When I look at all his assists I think his passing abilities are better then this stats say, both short and long.
One more thing about him, he has no problem using his left foot to pass or shoot, maybe weak foot accuracy should be higher?

I'm still for rising his mentality.

His WFA is already 6, which is sufficient to mean he doesn't have a problem using his left foot. He doesn't deserve higher than that - he wasn't two-footed.

I think passing stats are fine as they are, he does have the *Passing as well.

What do people think about Cards? I think he should have Enforcer and maybe Box-to-Box as well.
