Marco di Vaio, a very good but aging Italian striker, has scored a lot of goals throughout his career thanks to his good responses to lose balls and his good shooting ability. He is always positioned along the off-side line, trying to catch the defence off-guard and escape though one of the holes in it. He knows where to be in the box and is an expert volley taker.
Marco started off his career at his hometown club Lazio Roma where he played 3 seasons, playing 42 matches and scoring 13 goals. After that he was sold to Hellas Veron and Bari, before ending up at Serie B club Salernitana. Here Di Vaio showed his class and became topscorer of the Serie B in his first season with 21 goals from 36 matches, helping the club promote to Serie A. The season after that, Di Vaio again scored goals for Salernitana but the club was relegated nontheless.
However Di Vaio stuck in the Serie A, thanks to Parma FC buying him. Marco's first season for them was mediocre, scoring only 6 goals from 23 games. However his second and third seasons where fenomenal, Di Vaio scoring respectively 15 and 20 goals at top level. After that last season at Parma, Juventus bought Di Vaio and despite his abilities he didn't really succeed at the Turin club. Eventually he left Italy in 2004, joining Valencia on a 5-year deal. After one and a half semi-succesfull seasons in Spain, Valencia loaned Marco out to Monaco, who bought him the season after. In a surprise move at the winter break last season, Di Vaio joined Genoa CFC and made his return into the Serie A.
