Signed for _fra Dijon FCO after his loan at _cyp APOEL Nicosia ended in the Summer.

People in Cyprus expected big things from Yambere when he signed for APOEL in January on-loan from Bordeaux as a replacement for out-going top-class Center-Back Carlao, but many of them were left disappointed after he failed to make any significant contribution to APOEL.
He is not a bad player, but the fact that sometimes he can be error-prone(examples include goals conceded Vs Athletic Bilbao 3-2 away, and Vs Omonoia Nicosia 2-1 home), clumsy with the ball and with his challenges, and not so confident with the ball at his feet in order to play the ball from the back, resulted in him not being considered as one of APOEL's first-choice Center-Backs almost at any point during his time there. He has spend the majority of his six months at APOEL as 3rd-4th choice Center-Back, behind the likes of Ioannou, Merkis, and even Astiz.
His biggest assets are definitely his physical attributes; height, strength, ability in the air(both in defence and attack), and for a Center-Back that he is, he is not slow at sprinting. When his team's defence defends deep as a group, he usually performs at the best of his ability and avoids making any personal errors. Similar to Smalling in this area.
On his simple passing, he passes with his left foot in addition to his strong right, but he finds it more difficult to continue doing this when being under pressure or when trying a more difficult pass. Actually, he almost never tries difficult passes, probably knowing that he isn't very good at it. With the recent changes, his Set looks fine.
In my opinion, Yambere like AEL Limassol's Kevin Lafrance, can be a decent back-up Center-Back for almost any team, but not quite reliable and consistent to play week-in and week-out.
