I was very intrigued by this player. It's rare to see an American starting in Europe...and he just turned 20  But then I realized he'll probably transfer nationality to Serbia. Yeah, that's more like it.

So my 1st time seeing him, and I'm impressed. Here are my thoughts following the M'Gladbach match:

The commentators mentioned that he has 5 goals on headers this season. Pretty impressive. He was very solid in defense, and a little wreckless with his distribution. He is the only Dortmund player to have played every min in every match this season.

CB 4 Subotic -5 goals on set pieces/Good young CB/+SP/-LP&spass/has played ever min of every match this season/-sps/+attack/+agg/

These stats look pretty good, if I were to have any suggestions, they would be:
Stamina: 86/87
Short Pass Speed: 70
Shot Accuracy: 66
Shot Power: 84
Shot Technique: 68
Header: 84
Jump: 82
Technique: 73

it rarely happens that a CB has high 80s for stamina... what's the reason?

and I've read it somewhere else too... he's a horrible passer according to german league fans

His Passing is one of his weaker Sides, but in Overall definetly not the absolute Saturday Afternoon Horror.
His average Grade for Example at Kicker is 3,29 and that's above Average for a Player of his Age and Position(I think Passing and Overview is a hughes Factor to grade s.o.)

Greetings

I mentioned it somewhere up there. He has played every min of every match this season. Only player on their team to do that. Also, they hae an interesting build up, where their CB usually bring it up through the middle rather than the conventional bring it up the side with the SB. Humels is a much better passer, and they both do a bit more running for a CB than I am used to in the Serie A.

Stamina is too high 84 max so I'm fine with the first post
SPS seems good for me
SA: yeah well, rated him at 64 so there's not a big difference
SP: I would say 85
ST: 69
Header: He's a great header defensively and in Attack (scored four headers this season) so I would even up his Header to 87/88
Jump: I agree
Technique: is ok aswell

and I would up his LPA they're better than his Short Passes IMO

there were rumors of him leaving to a bigger club and it was said that his passing isnt good enough for a CB... I mean isnt that an indication that his passing isnt above averge for a CB but rather the opposite?

About nationality, let us not be prophets. It is honest to put Serbian/USA for now, until he decides.

That's right, he has declared for Serbia. Damn, we could have used him on the U.S. team. Neven will probably like the idea of partnering with Vidic, but someone at USA Soccer screwed up big-time.

Agree with Header. He's the defender with the most goals in this BuLi-season!

I also would increase his BB. Kehl, Bordon and Engelaar are at 89, I think Neven is at least as robust as them. He even dominated Luca Toni in the first match vs bayern this season and he loses nearly no duel in the air. I think he deserves 90 (Mertesacker, Metzelder) or 91 (Huth, Vidic).

Why does he have *Covering? Cant see the reason. But I would give him Sliding. He very often performes slides especially in the box and they are very accurate (as far as I remember he didn't caused any penalty by sliding).

His technique and passing isn't very good, he often needs to play blind long balls (an die deutschen: englisch für Befreiungsschlag? ^^) when he gets under pressure and altough he often trys to initiate attacks with long passes he mostly fails with it.
I think his technique, passing (except LPS) and dribble acc have to be lower than Hummels'.

His Balance is high enough considering to his height and weight.
I wouldn't add *Sliding, therefore he doesn't slide much, he makes it only when necessary. ;)

Well, are there players who slide when it's NOT necessary? :?

I have the impression that he performs slides more often than an average defender and his slides are really striking accurate in my eyes.
