*Position: SS*, CF, AM - why no WF and SM? he does play some sort of SM/WF role for the NT


Attack: 84(-2) - Mutu's biggest strenght is his hunger to attack and his positioning... it'd only seem arguable if we also consider adding *Positioning, his numbers are barely worse than Kaka's or Ibrahimovic's and both are obviously rated better...


Stamina: 85(+4) - disagree... I'd never go above 82 as Mutu often gets subbed out because he tires at the end of a game


Agility: 83(-2) - disagree... Mutu is a very agile player... remember his assist a couple of weeks ago, he went past players based on a great move which proves that he can move very slickly... he definately isn't that much less agile than Kaka, Ibrahimovic etc. he's a pretty slick fox and defenders have a really hard time stopping him


Dribble Accuracy: 85(-1) - 86 is a fair number considering players who do much less dribblings than him have similar numbers - i.E. Fabregas


Short Pass Accuracy: 82(+1) - arguable... could be right

Short Pass Speed: 81(-1) - maybe


Long Pass Acc.: 82(-2) - possibly... he's assisting many goals but he isn't as good as Razvan Rat I think


Long Pass Speed: 83(-3) - can live with that


Shot Power: 88(+1) - I see the reason behind it but the change isnt really too obvious here...


Shot Technique: 86(+1) - same as SP


Free Kick Accuracy: 86(+3) - looking at the stats of other players I guess I can agree... I really suggested to lower his FK skills as he was pretty bad in the last seasons but he seemingly improved there and he's not worse than other guys in the 82 region


Header: 77(-1) - why? He scores quite alot of headers

Jump: 75(-10) - this would make him totally weak in headers... Mutu is a player that can beat his man in the air and thats due to his amazing physique

Technique: 87(-1) - too minor to me

Aggression: 86(-3) - so Ribery, Kaka, C.Ron etc. are MORE attack minded than Mutu? I seriously doubt it... Mutu was among the players with the most shots on goal in the CL group stage


Mentality: 81(+5) - he's a bid of a primadonna... high 70s at best to me


Team Work: 79(-1) - he can work very well with the team... I dunno its a minor change


Weak Foot Frequency: 5(-2) - hmmm... he does cross often with his left foot, scores many with his left as well... not sure here


Consistency: 6(-1) - totally disagree... Mutu is one of the most consistant performers in Serie A... he's been involved in almost every attack of Fiorentina and always poses a threat... if anything maybe condition can be a bid lowered as he needs to be rested at times


this is my view... please remember that i gave a detailed explanation when I proposed his update on the old forum, maybe we need to bring it back or something

what kinda surprises me is that nobody touched nor doubted his speed stats yet

I mistyped....sorry I meant to say that Red had the same "Speed" stats at in the 1st post. I didn't agree of disagree with Red's numbers. I am aware that there are certain things we rate differently on PSD, so I would definitely want to make sure that we were consistent with the rest of the site. I just posted his stats to get the convo going, I haven't decided if I agree or disagree with them yet

I'm guessing that he got tired of defending his stats to people who were less knowledgable stats makers than him. Possibly also the fact that his standards are a little different than ours, and that might have caused some friction. But he has been gone longer than I have been a member

one doesn't have to argue with every member on here... his respect level is pretty huge here so I wonder how many would dare to argue with him...

in the case of romanian players I can easily argue with him though because I doubt he knows romo players better than I do AND i got a fairly good idea of making stats

You'd really be surprised with the kinda off disagreements he would get. Especially with him not following our ladders. There are a lot of "Noobs" that get under a lot of peoples skin. Some days I can't take it, and I'm not even a good enough stats maker to have that much pride behind my work

Think about some the disagreements Heui's stats got in the BuLi league. And he is one of the best stats makers on here. Currently, the only people whose stats rarely get questioned are Gooners and Re-Arranged. But there are still occasions where they do.

I think condition is more likely to get lowered than Consistency... he rarely has a bad game

Red's response to me:

Taking into consideration, that Mutu has been marked as SS*/AM/CF, 84 is already really high. There are not many registered SS who should or even would get a higher Attack rating. If he had CF as registered position, his Attack rating would have looked differently.

Agility has always to be measured by the player's height. Ibrahimovic is about 190cm and therefore has to get a slightly higher Agility rating to reflect him properly. The same goes for Kaka who is 187cm.

And just for you to compare, I've rate Ibra 84 and Kaka 86 which makes them all more or less equally well. I don't doubt that Mutu is very agile, but I've also seen him fail to twist and turn, especially on weak days. That's why I've not rated him any higher. Neither should you forget that 83 turns into 92 on red.

Stamina 85 doesn't say he works a lot. It just allows him to run a lot which he definitely does, for Fiorentina as well as for Romania. So don't mix that up with the combination Ment/TW. Those two determine the !work rate" and 81/79 doesn't make him a work horse at all.

Bout his Heading/Jump, I've mostly only seen him score diving header which didn't need much skill in either stat and those aerial battles he took in the matches I've seen he lost without standing a chance.


Always be aware to distinguish form and real skill! On a good day, everyone looks better than he really is.
