I was about to say the same. Try with 70's mentality.

Tried with fox-in-the-box but mentality lowered from 83 to 72 (Konami's default) - didn't notice much difference, still regularly deeper than Rooney. Rooney making runs forward while Hernandez stands in a deep position waiting for the ball.

Tried without fox-in-the-box, mentality still at 83 - quite a lot better, though he was still occasionally too deep.

I'm going to try with considerably lower TW, MENT and without fox-in-the-box. Clearly fox-in-the-box has something (quite alot) to do with this irrealistic behaviour, can anyone explain the reasoning for him having it in the first place?

In the PS2 version, Mentality seems to have some effect on how deep a player plays (never thoroughly tested it though). He does drop from time to time, pops up out wide some times, it's just as soon as he's passed the ball he will move right up the pitch straight away. No idea about cards though, don't use them sorry

I'm on PC version so it's understandably not MENT.

Does anyone else have the same problem though? I put TW down to 1, MENT down to 1, removed fox-in-the-box, but he's still deeper than Rooney far too often. Driving me mad. The ball comes to Rooney, I look forward where I should see Hernandez making runs behind the defence, and he's behind me, in the midfield...

Values like 1 dont work good ingame, it's like they're not recognised by the engine. Its safer to use something like 65 for lowest. IMO it may have to do with mentality-teamwork ratio. I'm on pc too and MENT does have a positional effect, as if it holds players from going forward. Try MEN<TW starting from 1 point difference and gradually increasing depending on the result. Then again it may have to do with were the player is positioned in the formation. PES is weird.

I'll try that, cheers. But Konami do give values as low as 50 for both TW and MENT.

He's placed as high forward as can be, so it's not that.

I'm wondering, though maybe I'm clutching at straws, could it be the positioning star? Supposedly it helps "evading markers"? But surely with a red AGG, this shouldn't be happening outside of the box...

I thought maybe goal poachers needed drastically lower TW (to counter-act their high RES maybe? I don't know), and I dropped it as low as 50, but he still wouldn't stop coming deeper than Rooney. I also made sure 'position switch' was set to 0 in tactics.

So, anyone? Why is this happening?! :?

It's pes 2011/2012 game engine.. it happens to everyone. Nothing you can do about it.

Strange that I don't have this problem but I am using Konami defaults.

I would go for 71 TECH. His touch is just appalling.

His touch is so frustrating. He needs about 3 touches to kill the ball. There was a point today where, if he'd been able to control the ball with ONE touch, he could have played a teammate through on goal, but he just needed far too long to control the ball, and the chance was gone. Agree with 71.

sp and st looks like a amateur o like the weakness striker ever of football history jajaja , i agree he has not a hard shot but st could be some points better for sure , i dont really think that Chicharito s sp is much weaker then Pipo Inzahgi

He was talking about shot power and how he thinks Hernandez can hit them harder than Inzaghi. I only remember 1 effort that looked like it had some power and that was against Everton last year, when he tried to bend one into the corner. Even then it only like about 80 or so SP on display.

yes his sp and st is extremly weak , sp can be minimum 75 and about st not very sure but really 73 ? am sure even alot of side backs have better st then Chicharito has , in other hand header looks very high for me 88 ? 85/86 could be fair enough

Don't saw the 'med' number, he is a very good CF with this stats, and work similar to real life...

Hi, I think 173 cm. and 62 kg. are old measurements from his early years
I think he is now 175 and around 70 kg.
His height of 175 is confirmed in the United official site while his weight is realistically around 70 if not more nowdays

175 x 70 should be his recent measurements:

I dunno. He looks a touch smaller than Ashley Young who is 175.
