None of these players ever represented the Suriname National team.
Most of the players born in Suriname come from the capital Paramaribo

Van Hooijdonk is not from Surinam. In his biography he said his biological dad is Moroccan, but he never knew his dad. He left his mom before he was born.

Michael Reiziger, Henk Fraser, Ulrich van Gobbel, Regi Blinker and Gaston Taument (only from his fathers side), Glenn Helder (former Arsenal), John Veldman, Bryan Roy were all Surinamese and internationals aswell.

Nigel de Jong is half-Surinamese. His dad Jerry de Jong was also capped for the Dutch NT.

Bouma might be too, not sure actually.

And as goalies I guess Vermeer is the only other option.

Van Hooijdonk does have Suriname origin according to all the read-ups I've read.

Bryan Roy made an appearance for Suriname for a charity event , along with Gullit and Rijkaard.

Thank you for giving me Kenneth Vermeer as an alternative Goalkeeper.

Haha, then the read ups are wrong. His biological dad is Morrocan and his mom (and her man, the man who raised van Hooijdonk and gave him his last name) are Dutch, thats what he wrote down in his biography.

So that you truly understand these guys' roots, Clarence Seedorf speaks Portuguese so fluently it just made me stare at the TV, in a flash-interview after the EURO 2004 semi-final Portugal vs. Holland. A lot of brazilian accent, but that's no biggie: impressive really.

Many don't even know how to speak their "native" language, but there's a handfew of them who do. And if you listen to them, their words just flow like they always spoke Portuguese (a very difficult language to learn and dominate) their whole lives.

I heard somewhere that Edson Braafheid (Bayern) and Andwele Slory (Feyenoord) also have Surinamese backgrounds... man if all these great players played for Suriname I don't think they would be too far behind Argentina and Brazil ;). I actually just started a new game with Suriname on Football Manager 2010 and I put all these players in there and now we will DOMINATE haha.

Oh and I beleive Bouma actually has Indoniesian heriatage, as do

John Heitinga - Ajax
Demy De Zeeuw - AZ Alkmaar
Jeffrey Altheer - Excelsior
Giovanni Van Bronkhorst - Feyenoord
Roy Makaay - Feyenoord
Michael Mols - Feyenoord
Jhon Van Beukering - NEC
Charles Dissels - NEC
Michael Timiselu - VVV Venlo
Jason Oost - VVV Venlo
Robin Van Persie - Arsenal, England
Wilfred Bouma - Aston Villa, England
Denny Landzaat - Wigan, England
Bobby Petta - Adelaide, Australia
Jeffrey Leiwakabessy - Aachen, Germany (2nd div)
Jeffrey De Visscher - Aberdeen, Scotland

It seems like Holland get their players from Suriname and Indonesia while France get all theirs from Africa. You could actually make a Indonesia all-stars team from that list.

Currently working on: New Zealand squad for World Cup.

I think De Zeeuw is Aruban (just like Maduro), not Indonesian. Dissels doenst look that Indonesian to me either. Makaay isnt Indonesian either.

Braafheid is definitely Surinamese. I guess Slory is aswell. Van der Wiel might be half-Surinamese aswell...but maybe he is Antillean. I am not sure.

Notable Antilleans are: Leroy Fer, Georginio Wijnaldum and Vurnon Anita at the moment.

The thing is, most Dutch persons of Surinamese heritage dont have a Surinamese passport.

De Zeeuw is Antillean, so my mistake. :D As too are Fer and Anita (Anita being born in Willemstad, the Antilles capital)
Braafheid and Slory were born is Paramaribo (Suriname capital) and I think Wijnaldum has Suri heritage also.
According to Wikipedia (yes I know its not a completely reliable source ;)) Van Der Wiel has Indonesian heritage. Makaay doesn't look Indonesian because I think white Dutch people moved down there at some point, unsure about the rest of the details :) and Dissels has a Moluccan mother with a Suri father. Maluku Islands are just off Indonesia, and have more of an African/Caribbean appearance than your regular Indo.

Currently working on: New Zealand squad for World Cup.

Here van der Wiel states his dad is Antilean and his mom is Dutch. So no Indonesian heritage (unless his mom might be from Indonesian heritage....).
