Wouldn't it be better to make a VETERANS All Stars, where true VETERANS ALL TIME - ALL STARS were included.
Players like Maldini, Matthaus, Romário, Baresi... Roger Milla...

?

I disagree to it, why make another overrated classic team? It's better having current veterans team instead of adding someone from the 1930-90's who apparently will be overrated !

Those who retired:

Lehmann - out
Uche - out
Favalli - out
Panucci - out
Cafu - out
Hamann - out(?)
Davids - out
Ronaldo - out

Palermo and Almeyda for Ronaldo and Davids respectively?

Fixed all links and updated thread look to new format.

Players OUT:
Lehmann,
Uche,
Favalli,
Panucci,
Cafu,
Hamann,
Davids,
Ronaldo.

Players IN:
Sol Campbell,
Matías Almeyda,
Juan Sebastián Verón,
Juninho Pernambucano,
Martín Palermo.

First XI (fixed players positioning in the line-up):
Sol Campbelll for Matterazzi,
Inzaghi for Ronaldo.

Other candidates for this team:
Rogério Ceni,
Boudewijn Zenden,
Patrick Vieira,
Pedro Munitis,
Hernán Crespo,
Kevin Phillips...

Feel free to share your opinion about this. I didn't gave it too much thought, just tried to fix appearance and added first few names that pop into my mind (beside those already suggested, off course), in order to have 23 Men Squad. Maybe Reserves (additional 9 players) could be added.

Since players in Classics are overrated and you noticed that, feel free to start sending suggestions for their update (for any of 2386 classic players thread, that is for any of around 3000 sets of stats). With this kind of attitude we'll update complete Classics in no time.

Thanks for recognizing our work. I'm glad people discovered another section where they could spit on Classics. It's so easy to say that something is wrong, but when it comes to fixing things everybody has excuse why they can't do it (talking generally). I would have to say quite a few things about some modern sections, but I don't do that since I'm aware that by just criticizing it and not offering the way to help (due to the lack of free time) those critics would be pointless (pretty much like going into most of the zingo's threads which haven't been updated and acting as "Captain Obvious" without suggesting what is actually wrong with the stats).

P.S. We know that Classics are far from perfect, but what you're expecting when only few members post here (just check Update thread and follow how many people actually post during a few days period)?! Most of the people just come here to take the stats that they need and leave without even saying thanks. Not that I need to read thanks (just wanted to make a point), but I would like to see somebody offering any kind of help from time to time (searching for sources, games, translating or stats updating... anything would be always appreciated, but that actually happens really, really rarely). Many older members don't even post from various reasons, while some of them come here just to write a general critique and then just leave without offering any help. Well, from now on these generalizing, "I'm-here-just-to-spit-and-run" posts will be deleted (at least if I see them).

Well, said. If people don't understand, about making classics is the most difficult section of whole forum, they will continue spitting and run before make a constructive suggestion. You know when I can, I'll try to offer my help with spanish classics, 'cause here I can found more information than other people they're out of Spain. I've got a pending set of Santiago Bernabeu and when I've got some more time, I'll try to do the same with other classics from far past eras ;)

Now, Ceni could take Van Der Sar's place, and I would add third SB in place of Scholes, but don't have an idea which...

Zambrotta is 34, he can be third SB, and for the others, there are many good players with 33 or more years, but can't think about someone older than 35, 36 who can replace existing...
