well in that case somebody needs to tone down the stats maybe?
i think 94 is a bit steep for Defence on top of the low jump
although i never made a habit of watching ajax games when i was 7 years old so all i've seen is the odd clip

In 1994 he was only 24 years (born Oct 1970), a really tender age for a GK. Do U really think he had the same positional sense as he has now (94)? I think U got his peak season wrong, really.

Shouldn't his prime era be extended to 2008? I mean, he won the Chmapions League in that year.

At its peak and of course yet, he was amazing goalkeeper, one of the best ever and one of the most underrated, looking generally.. he rarely made some great parade or miraculous save to defend his team, but his sense for positioning and setting, always in right time and feel where the ball will go was on the highest level compared with all goalkeepers in history, IMO his DEF can be 96 for sure and why he doesn't have S11: Penalty Saver card?

His GK skills should defenitely be at least 95 at his peak.

Not trying to be pessimistic, but why is it that he has these stats now, but at the time (i.e. while he had an active thread during the period that these are based) he wasn't rated this highly?

well I recently extended his era but they are pretty much are the same stats apart from defence which was at a 93/94 .

I just knew he'd never had a 'red' rating before is all. Just don't want the whole 'over-rated just because it's a classic set' thing. I doubt we'd have given him the 95 a few years ago would we? Although I guess nobody would dare to even suggest such a thing :P

his LPA could probably go up though, his accuracy in his distribution is pretty fantastic, very unlike a typical keeper that hoofs it, his kicks are aimed, and rarely are off the marks. Wouldn`t say green LPA is out of question.

i think van der sar's LPA could go up to 76 and LPS 77. He was really a fantastic distributor, and i can see why people laud De Gea's ability in this aspect in fond comparison to van der sar. You could really see an exquisite precision in his long passing, and it seemed to be at a level that outfield players wouldn't be ashamed of. Frankly, i think he could be higher in LPA, to 78 or so, but i'm not sure about this since i haven't watched a whole lot of VDS, however, it's fairly plain to see his quality in long passing in my opinion.

Imo Van der Sar never was a penalty stopper specialist.

Edwin had a slightly better RES with the red devils , even in his last year with Manu he showed excelent reflexes , couldnt find the vid where he stopped a A very dangerous FK against City with two worldclass deflections consecutively , it was quite amazing

i don't think more then 92 res is necessary for him. and on freekicks, that isn't pure reflex, it's to do with gks as well. van der sar was extremely skilled and elegant in his goalkeeping skill, and that's what allowed him to cover so much of the net, his awesome diving technique. purely, reflex is more about headers from 5 yards, how quick you can just reach out and save the close header, shots from close range, deflections, that kind of stuff.
