Probably the most solid Buffon ever and surely the most mental. Maturity has come for Gigi in the years before and after Calciopoli, becoming one of the symbols of Juve and being one of the few who has to handle the team out of Serie B after the scandal; possibly the best player of WC 2006, even better than his team mate Cannavaro (who received the Ballon d'Or), nobody really looked to beat him and he was honoured by IFFHS as the best keeper on the world 4 times in a row (2003, 2004, 2006 and 2007).

It's usually more a matter of we statmakers having less reserves about giving classic players red and orange values than to current-day players.

I'd also like to see him on 97 DEF too, not sure about GKS.

His positional sense and ability to masterfully use his body as a wall while doing some really well timed and well thought runs, making him do the save, without even having to make the save, forcing the opposition foward to strike the ball far from the net, or making him strike the ball near him, while he pulls out some crazy save, always was his trademark. I'd say Def shall be higher than RES or KS. One of the best I've seen in using his brain in the net, thing that most of the keepers lack. If nobody disagrees I'll be updating it to 97.

You know, Konami gave Buffon pretty much the highest AGI value at 87... no point here, just interesting to me.

If you don't put effort into your post, i won't put effort in my response.

Why does Classic Gigi have better pass stats than current?

Football is very simple: who has the ball attacks, who doesn't have defends.

I simply can't see him being that agile. I may be wrong though, but I think there were other more important factors contributing to his way of playing, other than his agility. As I've already said, His brilliance in positioning and being a "safe" keeper, is what's the most important thing for him. and such a high agility is not needed, but if it's a problem, we can discuss it further.

Listen, I haven't followed a lot of current Gigi, I've followed much more the classic one, so I think this question should be asked in the current Gigi thread.

I've added the 2011-2012 set to the database, and honestly it looks like it could use some tweaks from our current set in the "present" database.

just inconsistencies in the set, sp and a few other things are supposed to be psd values. I disagree with any lower than 94 resp/98 gks though

i was going to say that i think current buffon can even still hae 93/94 RES, i really see no inferiority in this aspect compared to Szczesny, Hart, Courtois...

On Ment, you think he should get the red MEN he currently has? that's seb's idea, i trust himon that. TW i thought was ok, i was thinking current Buffon has a slightly too high TW, that mid greens is suitable for how he interacts with his teammates.

Maybe this should be in current buffon thread

I updated him before May when I overhauled most keepers.

Hm, if you think that set represents Buffon better than this one, then update him back.

It's not about what I think, if theres to be an update to over-write a set I've worked on. I'd like to discuss it.
