Agreed, first post speed stats are pretty overrated as well, he's never been as fast as Rooney

if you compare these with the current set of joe cole stats then i think they're ok
i don't think he was 3 figures faster in both TS and ACC though
i don't think he was any quicker at all tbh

TS 85
ACC 86

Hes still a tad too fast on the first set. Probably 86 ACC and 84 TS? He doesn't get pass his marker with his pace but his fast feet was the main factor which helps him in loosing his marker.

His technique should be 89 if not 90. Hes currently on par with Rooney and I see him better than Rooney in that department.

Updated with most of Evans' set but I think Stu's DA/DS suits him better. He was easily worth and orange value for DA in my opinion, most technically gifted Englishman since Gazza. He could be inconsistent (shown by the drop in form) but some of his close control and trickery was just sublime.

I wouldn't put DS over his speed stats either, he usually preferred to slow down on the ball and beat players with pure trickery.

I would honestly suggest his DA could even be 92, he always had complete mastery over the ball and a large array of skills too.

Sounds harsh, but what a waste of talent. He could have been one of this countries greatest ever players. Players with his raw talent don't come along often here and it's a shame looking at where he is now. Should have been encouraged to develop into that number 10 role he so obviously is capable of playing. Fell victim to Mourinho's 4-3-3 system and got pushed out wide too often though, shame.

Anyway, sounds like an odd suggestion, but I think he could have *Sliding. There's a lot of footage on youtube of him and there's compilation videos which show him running back and sliding to win the ball expertly on a number of occasions. I was watching a load of videos on him a awhile ago and was impressed enough to think he could warrant the card. I suppose it's only a youtube video though so...

Don't you guys think that he deserves a better ST, he didn't score that much with Chelsea but with England he scored some pretty amazing volleys
