Pernambucano Juninho | 2002-2005

Postby PES Stats Database » 2008 Dec 12, 19:44

Club: Olympique Lyonnais

INFO:

Spoiler: show
In 2001, Juninho moved abroad to play for French club Olympique Lyonnais. Before his arrival at Lyon, the club had never won the French Ligue 1 championship. In his first year at the club, the championship was secured, and it was subsequently won seven seasons in a row. At Lyon, Juninho made himself especially noted for his accurate, powerful and varied set pieces.

Having been regarded as one of the world's greatest free kick takers of the present day and possibly one of the greatest of all time, in addition, he is an effective passer, having provided many assists, and his leadership abilities prompted Lyon manager Gérard Houllier to name him team captain.

On 26 May 2009, Juninho announced that he would leave Lyon at the end of the season as a free agent. Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas explained to the media that the club and Juninho agreed to cancel the last year of his contract. During the press conference, Juninho was sitting next to Aulas and left the press conference without saying a word.

He's not better than Scholes in positioning himself up front yet he has 83 Attack and Scholes has 82. I'm not too sure what value he deserves but i'm pretty sure he's not better than Scholes in this department, maybe these values could be swapped or Juninho's lowered to 80-82. Also his SA is supereior to Scholes by 1 is this right ? I'm not sure I never noticed him to be as prolific as Scholes and he got the majority of his goals from FK's or pens.

I checked the ladders, and Figo is on 83 for SA, for example. I don't think Juninho was/is better then him. In fact I wouldn't give Juninho more then 82 for SA.

As for ST 90 seems too much. I think he doesn't deserve more then 85-86 (Kaka is on 87, Gerrard on 85, Zidane on 88...).

So agreed on a decrease in SA to round about 82 and
also I think he would look better with ATTACK 80 same as present day Riquelme
What do you think ?

i dont think it, imo juninho's SA was same as Figo. 85 is overrated, i would like to see him with an 83.

about ST, is overrated too, but he could be same as gerrard, 85 ;)

These were mostly PLF's stats with a couple of tweaks. I agree to decrease some values.

I'd rate his ST higher than Gerrard's to be honest, from the goals I have seen, they are not worth of a 85, I would go with something like 87, he can score from nothing, you cant really expect how will he score when he has the ball and some space.

if you want him to have higher ST you should have used little space :) ... I'm not saying that Gerrard uses less space to score (I've been long time for a reduction of his ST even if he feels good in-game) but I don't think Juninho can score from that little space to deserve +85 ST

I'd have his mentality lower, and his stamina down by a couple also, his work rate was never this good simply because it wasn't his role, he had too much skill on the ball to do all the dirty work, however, he still had a decent work rate and could put his shift in, I'd lower them both by two. I may also lower his attack by one.

Updated format/Cards still pretty unsure about giving players both Talisman and Classic No.10. :? I guess it works out depending what position a player plays during the match.
