agree with the seggustions above, + defence could go up a bit by a point or two, to 95, 96..

I think he deserves a low 80's in DA at his prime, he was so cool and collected.

Just an honest question here - is he THE slowest world class CB ever? I mean his speed stats suggest just that.

Just for comparison with some of THE slowest world class CB's:

Sami HYYPIA - which was slow as fu*k:

Top Speed: 76
Acceleration: 77

Władysław ŻMUDA - which is considered to be EXTREAMLEY slow:

Top Speed: 72
Acceleration: 75

Laurent BLANC:

Top Speed: 74
Acceleration: 70

Could it be that his speed stats just been default stats being unnoticed, or was he really this slow? :|

Just a note Zmuda 82 stats should be considered as liable for change up or down in sections, including his ponderous speed as I have a bunch of downloaded matches to get through, end of FEBuary is when his values will be set in a more permanent stone.

PS I too was/am suprised at how 'high' Hyppia has for TS/ACC, no expert on him but I did see a fair bit of him like 2004-2006 and he did not seem to be in that sort of average range really for speed - got destroyed on a few occasions on account of his lack of pace (despite goodDEF/RES), EX Chelsea (2005 some match  so precise ) think Drogba smoked him and showed his true one weakness as a CB.

dribble speed is also too low http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqr1j_RhyAE at the begining of his career this guy played offensive midfield and scored a nice totals of goals some seasons (84 goals in 291 m to montpellier his first club for example ) a very good technician even at this position : he dropped in the game later because of the lack of speed and especially acceleration but he was faster than that for sure ; at 2 :10 in the 2nd video you saw him running at training : even if it was 5 years before the Laurent Blanc who was made you saw that he was'nt that slow (he was not fast either )
http://www.ina.fr/sport/football/video/ ... nc.fr.html hope it could help ...... for speed it was the default stats and he was faster than Hyypya it's sure and SP his high for him

If we've agreed that he was slightly faster then this stats show and that his DS should be higher, can anybody make concrete suggestions for Blanc?

Updated to fit new format.

***

Changes...

1. Extended Era from 1998-1999 to 1997-1999.

2. Top Speed: 74>76 & Acceleration: 70>74 - He definitely wasn't that slow (like many people noticed).

3. Dribble Speed: 70>74 - I think kevanos is right. Even when at this age, DS: 70 is too low for him.

4. Curling: 58>64 - Standardized this value a bit (although I'm still not completely sure about precise value for him).

5. Aggression: 66>74 - Rather then giving him Extra Attacker card, I've raised his Aggression. I think he'll act better (more realistic) with higher Aggression and Attack/Defence Awareness Card: Balanced.

***

I have one question. Shouldn't his Stamina be a bit higher, or is that just an my opinion?

at least now he'll be quick in the first few metres, which i think even the slowest player is capable of.

Blanc was an playmaker in his early days before he moved to the backline... and even as a defender you often saw him moving forward and playing as a playmaker. As such he was a way better passer of the ball than these stats suggest : SP accuracy, SP speed, LP accuracy and LP speed should all be in the yellow area.

In addition Blanc scored a great amount of goals throughout his carreer (about 150). It makes me think that his ST and SA are vastly underrated. He should have around 78-79. He also scored a decent amount of free-kicks in his carreer : his free-kick accuracy stat (64) is too low.

Finally Blanc was a hell of a header. 90 would be nice.

Amazing how this guy gets no attention at all... not even in the editor  Gotta be one of the absolute best defenders of all time. Last I seen of him was awhile ago for inter, and that was way past his prime, but anways, can tell there is a lot of sense in konamis ratings. Better than the current, a few things are wrong like his DS which has to be higher than their 68, but the sets much better overall, too much unneeded speed and agility in here.

Did you never see him at United then? And yeah, there's a lot of old standards in here. You gonna post up the konami set then? (or a variation of it?)

BB looks a bit overrated in both our and Konami's sets, from what I've seen of him he looks more the kind of defender who relies in ability and anticipation to steal balls rather than strenght. He had serious issues handling Kiko (Atlético Madrid), whom I would rate at mid/high yellows BB, so I don't see Blanc higher than 85 or so.

Other than that, Konami's set looks more or less fine. I'm not sure about such RES although I haven't seen enough of him to suggest a better value, so I'll leave it to people who know him better. I can tell though that DS is underrated, he probably deserves at least a low-mid 70s value... he tried some runs with the ball from time to time and he was pretty decent at it.

Are these stats up to date with the new standards? Defence looks a bit low.

Same response and defence as nesta with superior mentality?!

He must have been even better than I remember.

DEF perhaps, but Blanc certainly wasn't as responsive, though his lower speed stats might aready somehwat reflect that.

Personally I'd have him at RES 90 max.

This set is pretty much identical to the classic set in PES 2013. Some of the values I can't agree with. Firstly, defence and resp combo above Desailly?

98 Def is madness. Blanc was a great defender, but 98 Def puts him level with Nesta, Moore, Baresi and above Scirea and Figueroa. I know you should look at sets individually, but I am just trying to highlight how overpowered this makes Blanc. Especially combined with 94 resp...I'm a fan of Blanc, but there is simply no way he was ever 98 Def.

Blanc should be sitting around 94-95 defence and response probably in the yellows. Blanc was hardly a man marker, nor do I recall him stepping out of the line to reclaim the ball...ever really.

The set plays well, it just makes him a bit too good really.
