Short Pass Speed PES 2013

idk if is it just me, or if this truly is true. i've noticed while playing the DEMO that players with low SPS (mostly greens) struggle to hit longer passes and always lack those few meters to reach the target thus resulting in an intercepted ball. now, to show you what i mean:

Giovinco:
SPA 87
SPS 77

Pirlo:
SPA 93
SPS 92

Giovinco, always, and i mean ALWAYS (!) hits them too soft and the through ball gets intercepted, while Pirlo on the other hand constantly manages to get the ball in front of the defender so that the attacker can run on to it.

So, is it just me, or is this something you've also noticed? So could it be true that SPS is actually Short Pass RANGE in the new PES?

Yeah it happened to me also. Its not only with SPS but SPA too. I play with Real Madrid and while playing most of Ozil's through balls(they are most of times very slow even i hit it with full power) get intercepted very easily.

agree with the fact that Spa in involved too, obviously, they changed all the passing system, they are too slow sometimes ridiculously slow and the through ball are imprecise in some cases even when using the best passers in game + the Weighted Pass card and in simple situations, like a pass in an empty part of the defence by making it too deep in the defence also unreachable for Teamates(forwards) or too much in the sides.

I'm starting to think that too, they have decreased the passing to so childish level, you can try a pass with full power and it still going to be super slow and surprisely quite accurate even with low SPA players.

Depends on the level of assistance, 0 assistance is very unforgiving whereas 2-3-4 bars makes passing a lot easier. All in all though I don't think passing in PES13 is much different from PES12.

While I can't say I've noticed it, Pirlo does have that new Weighted Pass card which makes him more succesful at playing passes at the right speed, to the point that it's just (a bit) too easy imo.

I also thought the passing was ridiculously easy the way with the default set up and I was overall thinking I probably wasn't going to buy it. Honestly though, try dropping the assistance on the controller settings to 1 bar to start with, later to 0 bars, and it is amazing how much more difficult the game becomes. Even on average difficulty settings, you will struggle to pull off the super slick passing that I'm sure everyone has gotten used to with the computer's help and you probably haven't realized yet how much you rely on the unrealistic passing that the game has let you do in the past. It doesn't take long to get better at it with a bit of practice and feels much more rewarding to play without help thought. If you practice you can certainly get quite good with the manual passing and string some impressive passes together but it takes quite a concentration.

The downside is that I am finding it annoying to go back and play PES2011 because it feels so over assisted. Everything feels like it is out of your hands and the computer is doing everything for you, giving you little choice and forcing you to play a certain way.

I can confirm that playing with assistance 1 or 0 feels much better. It may take a while to get used to it in the beginning but eventually you really feel that you're in command. And BTW, the computer may not assist you to deliver wonderful difficult passes but also doesn't screw up simple ones like it usually does (the typical situation when you try to pass the ball to one player but the AI decides that it should go to someone else).

looks interresting , the assisted passes pisses me off so much ,it's screws up a well build offensive move so easily , i'll give it a try with 1 assistance.

I didn’t know about this assistance thing, I jumped from 2011 to 2013 so there is some great difference on passing. I played just some matches after making changes on the pass assist and is so much better, I think that cale problem about range is solved too, did some great passes with N. Oliveira and he has SPS 68.

yeah, but it was because of the assistance, it can make your pass God-like or Shitty as hell.

SPA/SPS = ground and LPA/LPS = aerial that's how we've been rating it since forever.

One question, if the assistance is 0, every player will put the ball where you are aiming or it depends on the SPA stat? I dunno if it has been answered yet but I can't find it.

That makes no sense. Teamwork has nothing to do with passing range.

what you experienced was the inconsistness of the Assisted passing system , the speed and precision is also altered by the AI ,so you can expect anything from any player while using it.
