Re: Renato Steffen

Just managed to watch Basel - Man U last night. Steffen really looked like an orange-red arrow form in that match. His first half performance was more into pressing Man U flank players with just moderate offensive approaches. This changed a bit deep into the second half, when he was quite close to s...

Re: Paulo Díaz

Hasn't he played as DM as well?
He's sure a defensive utility player. He's still more comfortable as a CB, but he still does a fairly competent job as RB/LB or DM.

Re: Leandro Chichizola

He's not been so great this season. But there's not much to blame on him, consider how poor UDLP D-Line is playing as a whole. They are mostly conceeding goals from shots inside the box; in the vast majority of them, Chichizola looks so unfortunate for having such a fragile defensive system in front...

Re: Pione Sisto

...Am I the only one who's seen his gradual evolution over his passes? He's not a creative winger by nature; his trait is still his ability to make those sudden, chaotic turns on the ball... But he's certainly making some dangerous, fairly incisive passes this season. Those passes are of rather shor...

Re: Olympiacos F.C.

The club has received tons of accusations of bribery & transfer spoil lately. How factible are those allegations? Are they really risking their reputation of a never-relegated side?

Re: Christian Eriksen

Already commented this on the Mango chat, but Eriksen plays so much better with a mobile, tactically developed CF ahead of him. You can see that often at Spurs. While Kane has still become a deadly striker himself, his off the ball movement and vision make much easier the duties of both Alli and Eri...

Re: Nicolai Jørgensen

following him only during this season he seems a pure goal poacher and doesn't need this four index cards. A bit slow but with some interesting technical skills. Well, at NT level he's playing as the (nominally) lone target man in a 4-3-3 formation, but he's actually using some of his previous expe...

Re: Florian Thauvin

Haven't watched much of OM this season. But the few times I did, I saw Thauvin shooting quite often from mid/long range.

Those shooting stats look ok on him; maybe he just needs his Curling to be bumped a bit.

Re: Lionel Messi

For instance, Crouch would be the best of both cases: A crappy finisher on a average day, but capable of peforming acrobatic kicks and volleys with such ease. Actually, he would have been a great Sepak Trakaw player (that volleyball-kind sport on which feet, legs and head are used for hitting the ba...

Heavily doubt it is the way you say, unless you just make him play against "Mongolese Maradonas".

Re: Harry Arter

His performance against Denmark was very solid, filling the role of McCarthy in a great way. He mostly focused on nulliying either Delaney or Eriksen while still providing some support in the build up play. Considering ROI didn't play with a conventional DM, both Hendrick and Arter played an almost ...

Re: Steven Davis

He's one of the most overlooked midfielders in Premier League overall. Not only by us, but also by the football media. No matter how poor Soton plays at some moments, Davis is the most consistent performer for The Saints. Southampton has had several managers since returning to Premier League, yet al...

Re: Duško Tošić

He's mostly a CB lately. He sucks in the air for being a CB; his Jump is probably even worse than just high 70s.
His DEF and RES (specially the latter) are fairly better though.

Re: Edwin Cardona

There was contact, and despite Enzo actually exagerated the impact, Cardona was already making "merits" to be sent off any time soon.

The overall refereeing was still poor though.

Re: Edwin Cardona

His performance against River last evening summarizes his overall career so well: Some moments of brilliance which eventually get overshadowed by some stupidity of him (e.g., being sent off for hitting a rival while on the ball).

your BB is in yellow should be in green 76, is characterized more for being a killer. I don't get your point, but I'll guess you meant he's a clinical striker (?) Truth be told, he's always been anything but clinical. He usually struggles placing his shots on the corners of the goal, even under no ...

Re: Vujadin Savić

For people who doesn't watch him in Serbian Super League (including myself), his last performance against Arsenal was pretty solid. Mostly playing a no-nonsense style of defending, but quite effective overall. Just moving his D-Line a bit forward when required. Tactically he was top notch last night...

Re: Gonzalo Martínez

He never looked like yellow material on TS; the few times he takes long runs off the ball, he usually seems to display an average speed. He just has a nice burst which he uses to get rid of opposition in small places, but then it quickly fades away if runs any further. He's a good example of those p...

Re: Ishak Belfodil

He has almost what you would expect from a good striker (pace, strength, good technical skills) but he barely makes an effective use for all of those traits. In the end, his unstability and clueless approach to the game easily eclipses his abilities. He scored a winner in the lone chance he had agai...
