Re: Netherlands All Stars

Van Persie simply has to be in the squad. No debate to be had. There's something wrong if you can't find room for a nations top goalscorer of all time in a team with 23 (32) spots up for grabs

Re: Argentina All Stars

Just wondering where Mascherano would rank among the great defensive midfielders of Argentine history? Seems like the type of player who will be appreciated more in hindsight when old sods like me look back on former players, but that's not to say he can't be acknowledged here and now by us does it?...

Re: Oscar

Id say you haven't watched him enough Probably not! ...especially for Brazil, he is so much more the your "traditional winger" I know he's much more than a traditional winger, my point is why can't he be a traditional winger, but with much more? (if you see what I mean  ) I dunno. I ...

Re: Oscar

I think it's a shame that traditional wingers are scoffed at a bit nowadays and aren't seen as particularly fashionable, because I actually think he'd be far more effective playing on the right-hand side more regularly. His crossing is the only part of his game that's ever consistently impressed me ...

Re: England All Stars

There's a couple of alterations I can see being made here. Firstly, I think Gary Neville is worthy of a place. He wasn't generally too popular at the time he was playing, but I think in hindsight a lot of people appreciate him more now. His media career has helped enormously, but only to the extent ...

Re: Spain All Stars

Watching extended highlights of the '64 European Championship final against the USSR (what else is there to do at 4am on a Friday night?), glad to see Amancio is in the team, real stand-out player. Much more so than Suarez who I was expecting (having actually known of him beforehand) to be the one r...

Re: Erik Lamela

I'm no expert, but doesn't the game require a player to have a certain WFA/WFF to do a Robona? I'd hazard a guess that it's probably lower than what he has currently? Saw him score for River's youth side in a similar fashion

From what I've seen it's obvious that he has the quality that the set suggests he has. The simple fact is however that it's perhaps harder for a flair player like him to shine in a team that's struggling so badly.

Re: Roberto Soldado

Probably. If memory serves he was part of at least one of the '08, '10 or '12 sides wasn't he?

EDIT: Apparently not, it was Negredo I was thinking of. Can't hurt to keep them I suppose but whether or not they're actually going to be part of a classic team is debatable. Real Madrid rejects?

Re: Wilfried Bony

Anyone else see his balance as red? I can honestly say I've never seen a footballer as strong as him. It's ridiculous how easily he holds off players at times, I've actually laughed out loud on occasions where opposition players literally bounce off him. Akinfenwa (99) aside, Zlatan is - according t...

Re: Jonas Olsson

Acceleration & Agility should obviously be lowered to mid 60's (no idea about Top Speed tbh). Vinnie's changes were probably generous even at the time and that was two years ago now

Re: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Any views on his Teamwork and Tenacity? I know he's young and a winger (two things that don't exactly lend themselves to high attributes in these two areas) but for me, the 'mental' side to his game is what separates him from a lot of other similar players. Regular Arsenal followers will know better...

Re: Andrew Robertson

Double post, but having watched a bit more of him I'm confident that all his passing stats could see a significant raise along with curling. His crossing is what stands out the most. Can't really offer any concrete figures but he looks miles better than say Clichy and hasn't looked any worse that Cr...

Re: Fabricio Coloccini

From what I've seen this season he's looked shocking defensively. It seems every time an opposition team is on the attack, he completely looses his head. He leaves the rest of his defence and rushes forward into midfield to confront the man on the ball. It wouldn't be so bad if he actually won the b...

Re: Juan Manuel Mata

Agreed with stamina. With regards to reducing his set generally, I'd be slightly hesitant about decreasing any of his technical attributes (although his Technique does look more 'orange' than 'red' to me) and maybe look at knocking a couple of points off his Attack and Teamwork and possibly Form to ...

Re: Marouane Fellaini

Agree with technique. Only reason he got such a high value was because of his 'famous' chest control I think. Just skimmed over the ladders and come up with this as a base to what I think his set could be. I've been out of the loop far too long for it to be considered an 'accurate' set but thought I...

Re: Juan Manuel Mata

I do wonder if his overall 'speed' is slightly over-rated. It's probably his dribble speed rating that irks me the most. I just don't see it. Looks a white top speed and a green dribble speed to me. Acceleration could maybe stay at a yellow even if it's dropped slightly. I don't now really, it's bee...

Re: Andrew Robertson

From what little I've seen of him, he look like one of those rare commodities in the game: a wide-man who can actually cross a ball well. His overall passing game has looked quite expansive to me. Better than your average wing-back anyway. Seems to be a very competent passer. Something to look out f...
