It's a four-way race for 4th with all of them being pretty inconsistent. It might become a five-way race if all four clubs continue to stutter and Everton continue to impress.
Liverpool are really up against it. Even with Gerrard and Torres they have looked spineless and not up for the fight at times. They've played a game more than Spurs, two more than Man City and three more than Aston Villa, and they also have the weakest goal difference. Obviously it's all very close and it would be silly to right Liverpool off but we're mid-March now, they have to start racking up the points.
Spurs' run-in is awkward, they play United, Chelsea and Arsenal consecutively and could have big bearing on the title race, but other than that, they could still gain maximum points from every other fixture. I think they're the real outsiders right now though. Man Citeh have a decent run-in and they have to be the favourites now. A trip to Arsenal and the Manchester derby provide the only games where it's difficult to see them winning. Villa probably have the best run-in, a trip to Chelsea aside, they have a lot of comfortable games against mid-low table outfits and they would be a decent bet.
Liverpool's run in really isn't that bad but they do have to go to Old Trafford s well as host title-chasing Chelsea. I expect a reaction from them though.
Right now I'll go for:
4 - Man City
5 - Aston Villa
6 - Liverpool
7 - Spurs
I'd prefer Villa to qualify though.
