Astra Ploiesti has quite a few good options for attack and their defence seems very organized. Their team is generally very tough to crack and have sufficiant pace and experience to keep the opposing teams busy. Rohat and Oprsal are both decent central defenders who will rarely get exposed and they're being well covered by 2 very active CMs. Stratila plays as a real winger and causes havoc on the right while the left side is being rotated a bid with either a natural striker or Paulinho playing there. They also have the luxury of having 3-4 good strikers to choose from. Tactically Astra is one of the better sides in Liga1 with Napoli as coach. He knows how to prepare the team in order to survive against any opposition and he's an italian master of pragmatism and defending.

Well, they obviously have some flaws and a few of them can be decisive in their fight against relegation. What they really lack is a good passing game in the center which forces them to either play directly the wings or search for one of the bulkier strikers to shield the ball. Another big problem seems to be the lack of physical power and height when it comes to their midfield and defence. They seem vulnerable inside the box aerially and will get dominated by physical sides that know what to do. This makes Astra Ploiesti a fairly predictable side and limits Napoli's options on how to approach a game.

It has to be said that Astra's squad is really really thin. They basicly have a 1st XI where only Dokic and Paulinho are serious contenders for a starting spot. Vlaicu & Hatchi are reserves that are sometimes getting more minutes and the rest are basicly last minute subs.

What can be mentioned is the way the team is organized. The centerbacks are quite mobile and can treat the ball well enough to help in build up plays, the sidebacks are both balanced where Mihalache is dangerous from distance and Craciun runs his wing like a modern sideback. Stratila is a pure winger/sidemidfielder with a freedom to roam up his side being covered by Mihalache while Liviu Ganea/Dokic are free to cut inside from the left. Paun is basicly the no10 of the team and plays a position very similarily to that of Spadacio. Miranda is the typical strong "virf" upfront who protects the ball to create space upfront. Vasile Gheorghe is basicly an invisible part of the team that mainly will close gaps such as Seto. Seto is slightly more involved than Gheorghe but nowhere close to being the playmaker some guys make him out to be.
