Young Italian goalkeeper Marco Amelia, a really class goalkeeper for his age. Excellent positioning, strong, good reflexes and agility, a decent kick, very good jump and good handling. Basically the complete package for a solid goalkeeper in the future, who knows maybe even Buffon-quality.

that's Genoa alright, GK plays as emergency sweeper. It seems to that should be affected by the aggression stat instead of mentality but whatever.

imo he is slower than this,both TS and ACC. look at when he's running back trying save stankovic's goal.

his header could be higher,i don't think you can score on a set piece with a 51, even if the player is un-marked-

I personally think he's 185-186 cms with a well structured chest/upper body. at least he looked like that when the teams took the one minute silence before the match,he was a tad higher than Criscito but a lot well built/bigger.

Imo is surely a Cons 6,and probably his TW is one of his biggest weaknesses.(misunderstanding with defenders[like tonight Genoa derby],bad aimed passes,like Stankovic's goal.)

I just bump for the third time a Consinstency 6. this appears sometimes even generous to me. tonight against Milan seemed a top level keeper,whilst sometimes he's disappointing.

It sounds like he is having an awful year. He seems to be the worst keeper at goal kicks and passing in the serie A. He seems to have lost confidence. Has he blown his chances of making the world cup? Especially with De Sanctis doing very well for Napoli and Marchetti on Amelia's heels after last season?

awful, absolutely awful.. I don't think we will see him at the WC, as you said not with De Sanctis and Marchetti out there!

Nope. Mentality relates to the determination the keeper will have, how he will cope after conceding or after being bombarded with shot after shot. However, if you give a keeper a value over 86 in Mentality, it appears to have an effect on the propensity that they come out of goal. As we know for outfield players, a high Mentality makes a player more determined to win back the ball and will hound and chase a player to do this. Well, if you give a keeper above an 86 in Mentality this seems to happen with them, through, what I call, the supremus obstinatio effect. And it is due to this effect why the Mentality values for keepers seem so much lower compared to outfield players, because there are very, very few keepers that do the aforementioned effect in the modern game.

Seeing him shaking hands and hugging with Buffon yesterday.....he's for sure between 185 and 188 cms.
