Ianis Zicu is without a doubt one of the most talented romanian footballers of the past 10 years who's equipped with superb touches and stunning passes that show a level of class which is almost unique in Romania. But... Ianis Zicu is not a professional footballer. He's not a primadonna like Cassano or Sergen, not a player who enjoys his football over the team like Youssuf and not a lazy genius like Alex de Souza or Lincoln. He's naive, maybe not the brightest and has a very fragile personality. Someone who needs special attention at training and probably someone whose job is to pat his back after every failed action. When Zicu makes a mistake you can visibly see how it hurts him deeply, the fact that the fans lose patience with him not making things easier for him. The proof is some of the utterly simple chances he does miss at times and the way he misses them, seemingly scared to make the most out of whatever's being given to him. Sadly he's also chased by massive injury problems which saw him sidelined for longer periods that also put a dell on his soul. Added to the fact that he's a player who can't use pace or physical force as he simply doesn't possess it he can easily be considered someone who can be absolutely useless on a bad day. I sincerly hope for the world of Romanian football, that Zicu will get over his problems and return to be the most skilled footballer around because he's definately capable of that.

 Re: Ianis ZICU
He's gotten faster since he's come back. Definitely on the ball anyway, he's not as slow as the 1st post represents him to be.

 Re: Ianis ZICU
not yet... Dan Petrescu only mentioned him along with other guys... his situation remains unclear but there's quite a few clubs who are interested in him

 Re: Ianis ZICU
update:
Balance: Surely not a player that can win a physical duel, he relies on his dribbles, 1st touch and responce. Nothing else
DA: Still one of the best in Romania but seems a bid lazy in possession
Tech: Same as DA
Mentality: He has serious mental problems and they are very visible on the pitch
