The Copa Libertadores Champions Thread

Postby Vickingo » 2017 Aug 08, 14:34

Well, basically it's the Southamerican version of Albo's thread which was asked by some users in there. It's a shitload of work making these kind of threads so I'll be adding them. Also if we can get some help from different users creating the teams (obviously working decently on them) will be very useful cause I can't do it all by myself in such incredible giant era.

We certainly need more users interested in create these great teams...there are some very important we missed...also we really need some uruguayan guys around to create their teams.

Maybe the recent ones can be _tick and it will be difficult to create the whole squad (lack of footage and sometimes an user doesn't want to create an specific player) and like Vickingo said some uruguayans users are needed here to create Nacional and peñarol so dont be surprised if for instance a champion side isn't completed.

Im gonna focus in the main players, and maybe other users will do the same but any help for any player is welcomed and even discuss certain stats for players we are interested in discuss with.

That would be great. The thing is we need at least +11 players from each team to be considered "done", otherwise are useless in game. That's a shitload of work and that's why Albo's work is just crazily good. If you can do it, that would be great.

That would be another great addition. That was the famous match vs Boca when a dog bited Navarro Montoya right?

Done _tick. BUT It's also true it's hard to have fully updated a team. Most of old teams in here are made by obscure statsmakers in PSD with old and OVERRATED stadnards. That's why we need a huge revamp of most of players in here to take down some stats and make more realistic ones. Take a look on old sides, most are dead links and obscure Mongolese Maradonas who weren't the half of sets said. If we create new players, we should give them what they deserve and don't be contemplative just because they have legend name...if they need 50's in stats, then give them...also have in mind our Classic standards, such a SPS, LPS, STA, RESP, AGG etc are rated very low (or lower than current) to replicate how much slower was football back then.

like Vickingo said some uruguayans users are needed here to create Nacional and peñarol so dont be surprised if for instance a champion side isn't completed.

I would love having Peñarol 87 and Nacional 88, but who knows, I'd focus more in Argentinian teams which are a lot and missing.

Also and not least important, if you create players/team we do need explanations about stats, otherwise will be rejected. We're making a Classic stats revamp cause old DB was full of guesswork. If we do this is to create a trustable DB, not another one with overrated, inflated and guesswork sets. So, if you really wanna help, watch entire matches, analyse teams and players and then judge them to create sets.

This is very good, we needed this in here. My advice to you guys is to be as concrete as the time frame lets you to be, especially with the bigger and most succesful teams. For example Estudiantes 68-70, Independiente 72-75, try to work on the better players of these teams and to put them together in one thread. I know I said constanly I prefer 1 year time-spans for teams, but especially for the older ones you need to compromise. Take a look at the Real Madrid 55-60 thread. That's the best example of what I mean.

Now, especially to the non-mods trying to help, look carefully on the way how the Classic Section has been worked on, in the last 1 year and a half or so, and especially its standards. If I find anything suspicious like the bunch of Ecuadoreans BelloMina posted for the Quito 2008 squad, then I'm sorry to say but all of it will be deleted (mercilessly). We're slowly but very steadily working on a smaller, but much more trustable Classic section, if anybody posts nonsense, or posts players they haven't ever seen playing, or can't even put 2 sentences together for the player they posted, than I'm willing to ban you altogether. I'm pretty sure such users are long gone from our website, but we've been working with our rules in here, and those rules I think have brought alot of stability into the classic section. And those rules will keep being respected.

Anyways, can anyone take the famous Pele Santos?

You are welcomed to help me with colo colo ;) since our teams played that final.

Olimpia was a great side in late 80s and the start of the 90' with finals in 89 and 91 and champion in the 90.

Well, i could find matches from my team and some goals of the most important guys: martinez and barticciotto. Barti will be an interesting player to create and i have the luxure to do that.

I have the finals, semis and the match against nacional (4-0). So i will take my time and like Albo said, im gonna be very careful with my notes and trying to not overrate players, mostly because is my team and the classic section must be taken with seriousness.

Im gonna focuss in: moron, pizarro, mendoza, martinez and barticciotto, and i will try to create the start Xl ofc with even more attention.

I made a quick research and there's some decent footage, thing is quality is quite bad and at least for me is very hard to follow players when you're not familiar at all or you have to take a look all the time to the number, it's really confusing. I saw the thread it's in here and most of sets were deleted aside Pelé, Gilmar (outdated i guess) and the no. 5 (Zito). I offer myself to make a collab on this but it's a work for a) lot of time and patience b) 2 or 3 people working together to make it well.

Btw @vickingo a little mistake, in 1979 winner was Olimpia, not Flamengo. Another question where should we post notes, videos, and sets of those players? In this thread?

I think a good idea is to post sets and notes in (spoilers) here so ppl can see it and even discuss certain players/stats. For example REYDECOPAS can give me notes for colo colo beacuse his team was finalist and champion the year before and even that can help him to create his players and olimpia.

A POV from other users can come in handy and even you Vickingo with boca and players like latorre and young batistuta to even create them (Btw im not asking you guys to do what im saying :) )

I'd love to see Rubén Espinoza's set. What a player :D

P12 - Goal Poacher

From the goals he scored and highlights/matches, i have to say that he was pure danger although not at the same categorie of the great CFs in our history but at the national level he was one of the best in those years. He won two chileans titles in a row and was 3 times in a row the goalscorer of our tournament (in colo-colo played 132 and scored 67 goals.

By the cards i added and the high response you can tell his attacking style, and i don't think he deserves fox in the box tho but with the values i used, it's well replicated.
