Official Spanish La Liga 2009/2010 Thread
The league will start... who will be the winner? Barça and Madrid have the best players but we can forget Villareal or Atlético... Valencia or Sevilla seems far but can put the surprise too. The discussion is opened!

Re: Official Spanish La Liga 2009/2010 Thread
If Agüero or Forlán gets injured, Atletico will struggle for relegation. We're not even able of beating Racing with ten men in our stadium. And the match was pathetic. It even looked worst because I was actually there...

Not getting relegated, but struggle, like ending 12-15. The team is worst this year than previous. The keeper, Asenjo is currently at Leo Franco's level, but his sub, Roberto, isn't probably as good as Coupet. In defense we have changed Heitinga for Juanito and Seitaridis for Valera, and I prefer the two firsts. the rest of the defense was higly critisized last years, and now they have aged one year... The midfield is Asunçao, R. García, Cléber, Camacho and Jurado, when last year was Asunçao, R. García, Banega, Camacho and Maniche. This is pretty much the same, because Banega was far better than Cleber, but Maniche isn't at the level of Jurado. In the sides we've got Simao, Maxi and Reyes. Last year we had Simao, Maxi, De Las Cuevas and Luis García. I prefer De las cuevas to the ex-footballer Reyes, Maxi and Simao are older than last year, and Maxi wasn't exactly great lately. However we finally fired Luis García. As forwards we have Kun, Forlán and Sinama. Kun will make a good year probably, but Forlán must have a lot of luck to score 32 goals again. And Sinama is real bad. The last match he was changed for Keko, a 17 year old, and the team finally could play by the right side, because Sinama just would lose the ball. So I don't think I'm being harsh. When I made my predictions earlier, I thought we would buy two SB and a creative midfielder, but no one came. There have been four signings: Asenjo, Roberto, Cabrera and Juanito, and the only one I like is Asenjo, who currently doesn't improve the team.

Reading your post, the situation looks pretty pessimistic. Actually I think Atletico have done a bad job when it comes to signings this summer, and now with all these problems they're having, let's see how it finishes.

Re: Official Spanish La Liga 2009/2010 Thread
What a game. And I was watching it with my grandad, who's a death Atletico fan. BTW, has anybody seen Madrid's press recently?? This is getting ridiculous, seriously. They've been almost a week talking wonders about Ronaldo's FK, and since he scored those two against Zurich, instead of saying how rubbish the keeper was, they claimed that his power, accuracy and curl is second to none, and now this pretty boy is supposed to be the best FK taker in the world and one of the bests ever at the level of Beckham(I guess they haven't even seen Juninho in they're lives) because of those FK that had NO curl, NO accuracy and only lots of power.

Yes, 4-5 weeks more or less. The funny thing is that the first ball he touched, he scored, but he also got injuried.

Re: Official Spanish La Liga 2009/2010 Thread
I was watching yesterday match and seem that Alcorcon was the FC Barcelona of 2-6 match... But that was problem of the players that doesn't show a true motivation to play the match, Drenthe plays the worst match that I've ever seen to a left side back (guys I'm very annoyed of the overrated stats of this guy, seriously, defensively it's more than awful defender, ok has an impressive physic, but technically it's too poor and his FKA and Curling were a joke...), Guti and Diarra were a shadow on the midfield, VdV wasn't playing the same match... It's very hard to win in this way...

IMO you're the victim of Villarreal need, you have a good coach, Oltra, I really like your football proposal, but I think you need more punch in the forward.

I wouldn't say it better, Xyder... But I'm tired of hearing "Tenerife played well, they had the ball possession, but they forgave the rival and finally lost the match". That was what the press said after the matches against Zaragoza, Real Madrid, Espanyol, Deportivo, even Villarreal. Tenerife shot more times than Villarreal!!! I would prefer "Tenerife didn't deserve to win, but they did" ¬¬ If we go down to Liga Adelante again, nobody will remember how well we played... We have scored too few goals... Nino only has scored once this season, let's hope he scores soon and then he should be less nervous. I don't think he has forgotten to score goals, he scored 29 goals last season, although in Liga Adelante, he should score in Liga BBVA too, don't you think?

Re: Official Spanish La Liga 2009/2010 Thread
Some players performs better in La Liga Adelante (for me always Segunda División) than La Liga, IMO Nino it's a player only for Segunda, see his stats, he has scored an amount of goals in Segunda, but when he has played in Primera, with Levante and Tenerife his performance it's really poor. That's for the different gameplay of the two divisions, take a look to the big teams that fall to Segunda recently... Zaragoza, Real Sociedad, Betis, Málaga, Celta, Sevilla, Atlético... the most of them have big troubles to return to Primera, having great players, but every division it's a different world and you have to adapt to it. IMO Tenerife not gone to fall to Segunda, IMO there are some teams that are performing worse than Tenerife, like Xerez, Almería, Málaga (but IMO they have a great team and will go up in La Liga), Racing or Valladolid (they have a good trainer, but I don't like this team ).
